When listening to music I have the lab28 set to ‘wide mode’ and use the tone wheel to adjust the sound; however, on checking the app with the lab 28 ( instead of theatre) indeed it shows its in social mode- so the DSP is different. I can change this in the app to Optimum, which then moves the slats to ‘narrow’ if i touch any button in the remote ( even volume change) the speakers revert back to ‘wide social’- the sound is totally different; why didnt B&O allow a ‘wide and optimum together when selecting ‘preset 1 or 2’ Dissapointing that after one year B&O still hasnt improved the experience and frustrating that its not giving its best
Hi 355f!
I figured I would chime in to see if I could help. I created another sound profile on my lab 28s that I named optimum wide, I then set that to preset one with the Theatre so that when I am using the Theatre they are always in wide mode but they dont default to social. I hope that helps 🙂
xthx
Where are you?
Hi Martin, I am in San Francisco CA – Thanks for your reply already 🙂
The buttons on the 28 are disabled when they are connected to a beovision/theatre. They return to being operational once the beovision/theatre has been turned off.
Hi Mr10Percent!
Thanks for the info so far – I am using the newest gen Apple TV 4K connected directly into the theatre and this sound mode is just the Theatre by itself. It was playing the Apple TV+ movie Greyhound. Should it not be outputting at PCM? I have never seen anything other than that when playing from the Apple TV.
Thanks!
Hi Guys!
Hoping to get some advice/help with my Theatre. I don’t know what the problem is (or if there is one) but I am only getting 5.0.2 output with Atmos content. I am attaching a screen shot of incoming signal as Atmos but outputting 5.0.2. I am pretty sure this is supposed to be outputting 7. Correct? Any help/advice is as always very much appreciated 🙂 thanks!
@etype76, Thank you! And yes you have a good eye, the LG panel is attached to the wall and floats 5mm above the Theatre. As such it is just the included table stand that is holding the Theatre up. Lined up very well and allows me to not have to use the heavier duty table stand. I am not too sure on your question about your stand though as I have not seen one in person before, I do recall that one of the videos on the B&O support website show your stand being installed, might help?
Just got my Theatre installed in my custom made built in 😉 turned out pretty well
Have you tried switching to WISA on the 18’s? might rule out a wired connection issue as a test, or even just switch to WISA permanently if it fixes the problem?
