The LDR components were the culprits
I used a repair kit from Beoparts and put back the LDR in the 1900, everything is fine
The 1900 is back to life and sing again
Thank you Sonavor
Actually I unsoldered the LDR, more easy to open it
The metal cover is glued to the black plastic support see attached picture
The lamp is dead
The lamp is probably OK as measured 17 Ohms
However I have ordered a repair kit for this LDR
By the way, is there a trick to remove the cover of this LDR? Is it glued or just clipped?
Hello,
Thank you for the help
I used a one Khz tone generator connected to the recorder input and the signal arriving at the balance control is very low
I will open the LDR by tomorrow for checking
Alain
I could measure the IL1 lamp resistance between emitter TR24 and 15 V and found 17,7 Ohms is this value OK?
If yes the problem is elsewhere, any thought?
I lately discovered your message
Concerning the Service Manual I may send it if you are still interested.
Cheers
Alain
The culprit was R126 measured 40 MOhms
Yes!
I used FM4 to activate FM5 and it works as follows:
- the R122 and R126 lifted from the IC6 side
- the R122 connected in place of R126 on IC6 side
So the issue is between TR21 and the IC6, to confirm I have to replace this R126 or look for broken copper track
Thanks a lot Martin
The signalling only is on an other PCB not the commands
Yes it was always there
(By the way I measured the lamps they are 18 Ohms each instead of 12/14 Ohms as a consequence, the voltage reference for muting measured at R3, 33Ohms of PCB 5 is no longer 2,5 Volts but 1,9 Volt)
No it does not if I am on an other entry
However, it starts the 2400 when in stand by but does not allow to use FM5 the corresponding lamp is not lit, but in that case I may switch to any other input
Alain
actually it was one leg of the P6 switch to be grounded, stangely it was not.
If left open the front end is missing the voltage for the varicaps and it is free running
Hello
After checking some parts ofthe 4400, it appears that one end of the P6 pot for adjusting the channel number 6 is left open when it should be grounded. To be corrected of course. Hopefully can be done without difficulties.
Cheers
Alain
Hello,
I have here a new behavior of my 4400 unit I dont know how to correct.
When switching from an FM selection to Tape 1 or 2, or Phono, the display related to FM stereo lamp and tuning indicator remains lit for sometimes up to 10 seconds and then disappear.
It does not affect the sound and functioning . The 15V still there during this time, how to corect this ? Is TR1 involved and how?
Alain
OK thank you Jacques
Thanks for your feedbacks
I will look at it accordingly, since then the situation changed and now when switching on a big bump occurs immediately and the unit is working
I rememeber the previous 4400 I repaired there was a 2 to 3 seconds delay before the unit started, this one no delay, can we adjust this and how?
Many thanks
Alain
