Welcome to the forum JMK. There seems to exist a ‘converter’ according to this older beoworld thread: https://archivedforum.beoworld.co.uk/forums/p/12394/92008.aspx. Not sure if that device would also translate Beo4 or BeoLink 1000 tone adjustment signals. The manual found here does not mention tone adjustment. https://beo.zone/media/files/Bang-Olufsen-Beomaster_5000-Owners-Manual-2.pdf.
I think Matador gives the best advice.Regards, Johan
Hi, I tried to capture the texture of the powdercoating on my 7-4. I can tell it was a massive improvement from the scratched and sticky ‘before’ situation. But it also costed more than the speaker :-).
Good luck, let us know the result!
Regards,
Johan
That BeoGram looks superb Leosgonewild!
Hello DanteM,
I have good experience with powdercoating. I brought a very sticky BeoLab 7-4 to a local shop, they sandblasted the empty cabinet (I made sure to put screws to avoid the threads get damaged or covered) and coated it with a light textured black coating. They normally make you choose from samples so you can choose how smooth or rough you want the texture. It does not feel rubbery but is much more pleasant to the touch than before and very tough.
I had some Beo4’s done as well and the coating holds really well. I can send a photograph tomorrow when there is daylight again if you want.
Regards, Johan
I feel rich now, owning a BeoLab 3500 and TWO 1611s :-). Thanks Matador and Guy!

Hi Rolf,
I am now able to switch radio stations using Beo4 straight on. No need to use the app first anymore! I have not noticed a software update, but I did fiddle a bit with the Core settings though. The only thing is that I cannot choose the first station in the B&O radio list by pressing a ‘1’ nor pressing ’01’ nor pressing ‘1 GO’. The other stations do respond directly. I have asked B&O for this.
Keep you posted, Johan.
Hi Xavier,
Both my BLCs are “1.4.3.19864, December 11, 2015” and they work fine.
Hope this helps. Regards, Johan
Hello Hiort, sounds like the same issue that Rolf2 and I have, see here: https://beoworld.dev.idslogic.net/forums/topic/bo-radio-migration-available-now/page/4/#post-12269.
We found that after changing station once in the app, then changing stations with the remote works as normal again.
Regards, Johan
Replaced noisy fans with the most silent Noctua fans I could find (on sticky old ugly bedroom BV7-32 that came with a BL7-1 I bought)
Hi Mr10Percent,
I use TIA/EIA 568 B standard mounted CAT7 in wall cabling, driving (a.o.) BeoLab 4000s. The cables are terminated with in wall RJ45 sockets, and I use RJ45 to DIN PowerLink cables. BeoLab 3s (also ICEpower) should then be OK too I reckon.
Member tuttivini cut off one RJ45 plug from Cat7 patch cables and soldered DIN plugs to them. He told me it worked fine.
You state ‘flat CAT7′, not sure if that makes any difference? It is the same shielding classification right?
Hope this helps. Johan
Very period correct! Happy Christmas ??
Congratulations to all lucky winners! Thanks PrizeBot (and your crew).
Happy Christmas to all around the BeoWorld.
Johan
Hi, I use:
BeoLab 8000s as the main stereo speakers +BL2, 7-1 & 6000s for surround sound in the living room
4000s in the kitchen, 3500 in the utility room
BV10 and BV7 in the office and bedroom.
Longing for BeoLab 5s!
Johan
Hi again, it was M5x20 ?: https://beoworld.dev.idslogic.net/forums/search/M5+head/
Just to close the loop when people find this post!
Good luck, Johan
Hi a2bur, and welcome to the (new) forum. Good to hear that it is solved. Thanks for sharing. Did you make an additional 4 pin connection between the BeoSystem 3 and one Penta then?
Must sound good with six Pentas 🙂
Johan
Congratulations RobinWal! And welcome to the (new) forum. The speakers look amazing on the concrete floor. Enjoy! (while I keep on dreaming of them some more :-)). Johan
Gotcha! A loop milled from a strip. Smart “software guy”! (19:12).
Good persistence to hold on to a design philosophy so much that a weld (that normally is hidden on the back) gets eliminated because the speaker is 360°, and hence has no back!
Thanks for this Steve, I find it really interesting to see why some design choices were made. Still curious how the one piece bezel is actually produced before it gets bent and polished!
Thanks Rolf. Maybe it is the Core that needs a bit of software work then. I am afraid I cannot help you with the Moment [edit] issue. Best of luck!
