      3) I think only the C2 and G2 Panels are supported. With LG, you need to download the B&O LG App to enable remote control via BR1. I dont know if this LG app is compatible with the CX. But you can test this now I think?

      Found CX, C1, C2, GX, G1 and G2 are supported source πŸ™‚

4a) the way the Beoapp seems to work is you can add 4 sets of wired speakers and I think 4 pairs of WISA speakers. When I do a quick test to do a new wired speaker config with a BL2 first, I can add only 1 BL90 to the BL2. I cant add a pair. So I imagine you use 1 of 4 connections adding a subwoofer.
4b) When you add a speaker, you add to that speaker 1 extra unit. This can be identical model, a different model (i.e. BL90 – Front Left and BL3 – Front Right) or it can be solo (just a Bl90 Front left)

You should be able to add 8 single channels but my guess is BL90 and BL50 is always a pair. Thus occupying both left and right channel. A single subwoofer should only occupy one channel πŸ™‚

Speaker roles: I would have thought that middle ceiling speaker is a must for Atmos, is this not supported by the Theatre? I have downloaded the user manual but it is limited on information. Questions: 1) does the Theatre support 8K as it is today or will it require hardware updates? 2) which provides best ease of use and control and sound and picture quality, to connect external sources to the Theatre or to the television? 3) can the Theatre control an LG CX? I find the user manual unclear as it states β€œnewer than CX”, does that include or exclude the CX? 4) how many speakers can be wired to the theatre, I see 4 RJ45 powerlink, is it fair to assume 8 speakers? And can one assign any speaker position combination for each RJ45 or will they need to be in pairs i.e. front left and right as opposed to a subwoofer and a center speaker? 5) is the user experience once all is setup easy like BeoVisions normally are so that all members of the family can use the system?

        1) Yes it support 8K passthrough (4K 120FPS / 8K 60FPS / 40Gbit source) but note the cable requirements for 8K is quite high and you need an insanely big screen size to benefit the 4*4K πŸ™‚

        2) I don’t quite follow

        3) CX should be supported I have tested a GX and it works. It should have similar internals as the CX.

        4) Yes for wired speakers you can connect 8 speakers (Left Right channel in each powerlink plug). You can either daisy chain (only some beolab speakers support it) else you can buy splitters. Note you can also connect up to 8 wireless over WiSA

        5) Sadly I have little to no experience with the old BeoVisions. So hopefully another kind spirit can help you πŸ™‚

My Theatre has now decided to not work. The light at the front is flashing white. Was trying to operate a product via HDMI when the problems began. Have powered the Theatre off several times. It works for a short time and then no response. Have tried reboot and eventually factory reset. Still the same. Any thoughts?

It sounds like an issue only a small amount of Beosound Theatre’s are hitting. Which software version are you on? If it’s on 2.3.2.15078 (launch version) it’s most likely that and should be solved on newer versions.
Try reach out to support if they have a newer version available.

If you still have any issues please feel free to contact me with a PM πŸ™‚

            Hi Checkler

Yes it’s okay to replace your power cords for the Beolab 28. It has its own power supply built in.

About the humming on volume change. I assume you have connected the 28’s over powerlink? I have experienced it when i used the wrong cable on the 28’s and 17’s. You need a good shielded cable that’s verified by your local B&O dealer/cable pusher or (if I remember correctly) an Ethernet cable CAT 7 also has the desired shielding that can get the job done. I found out that the shield works as signal ground and weird things happen when you don’t have a common ground.

Hope it helps solving your humming problem
