      Hi mPartio,

If you are getting a low frequency buzz or hum then this points to poor grounding. This is quite common where Cat cables have been used, particularly if some of the adapters or connectors are not suitably shielded. I suggest trying a direct cable connection from the Theatre to each speaker to give the best chance of a good connection, you can see suitable cables here:-

      Kind regards, Steve.

        Hi,

You can use a cable like this in one of the Powerlink outputs of the TV and set this output to stereo:-

          Hi Beoworlders,

I would like to extend my thanks to Mark from Multicare for taking over the ownership of this amazing site! It has been an honour to be able to sponsor Beoworld since 2011 and I am looking forward to supporting Mark with the site going forward.

Please check out this video to meet Mark and to hear about his passion for B&O and for Beoworld:-

I hope you will join me in welcoming Mark as the new owner of Beoworld!

          Kind regards, Steve.

                  Hi,

As neither the Beocenter 8500 or the Beogram 3300 have a phono stage built in, you will need a separate phono stage in order to connect them. One example is the one linked below from my website, which comes with all cables needed and full instructions, ready to “plug and play”:-

https://soundsheavenly.com/beogram-record-players/12-2196-pre-amp-bundle-for-bo-beogram-and-all-turntables.html#/36-output-5_pin_din_aux/41-power_supply-uk – please choose the “5 pin DIN plug” output option for your Beocenter.

For reference, Beogram 3300 is an earlier model from just before B&O moved the pre-amplifier from the music system to the turntable, whereas your Beocenter 8500 is the later model from after this change. The change meant that it was possible to have more freedom over the placement of a later turntable – the inclusion of the pre-amp in the later Beogram 3500, 4500, 6500 and 7000 meant that they no longer needed to be kept close to the music system as they gave a higher signal output.

                  Kind regards, Steve.

                    Thanks,

I have some interview videos on this very topic planned for early in the summer!

                    Kind regards, Steve.

                      Thanks guys!

I don’t think the support team would be something that would work well on video, but there may be other “behind the scenes” areas of B&O that could be possible. I will give it some thought.

There is certainly some scope to show the work that has gone into some of B&O’s iconic designs, I will be covering this in a video in the coming weeks!

                      Kind regards, Steve.

                        Hi Keith,

That is great news, really pleased to hear that BeoWorld is safe and in the hands of MultiCare, a company I know well and trust with my own B&O repairs and servicing.

I look forward to continuing to support BeoWorld going forwards and to helping the site to grow under its new ownership.

Thank you for all the time, money and effort that you, Lee and the moderating team have given to this great community over the years, it is really appreciated!

Here’s to a healthy future for the site that we all love!

                        Kind regards, Steve.

                            Thanks artig,

I suspected that I wasn’t exactly right with that statement! I should have said that Beogram 2000/5000 were the only Datalink controlled radial Beograms with full infra-red remote control…

Glad you liked the video – please tune in for the next one to hear it playing directly to Beolab speakers!

                            Kind regards, Steve.

                                Hi Adam,

Good point, I will have another check inside the Beogram to see if there is an MMC4 lurking in there anywhere! Still on the lookout for a good pair of RL140 (and an MMC4!)

By the way, will you be heading up to the Maverick hi-fi show again this year? Will be great to hear your B&O setup again!

                                Kind regards, Steve.

                                  Hi Glitch,

So far the price is only £45 GBP. No shipping (collected from the seller locally), belts and all other parts in good order so not replaced at this stage. I haven’t bought an MMC cartridge for it yet, just borrowed the one from my other Beogram. I agree that will be an extra expense when I can track down a suitable MMC, but that is a problem for another day 😉

                                  Kind regards, Steve.

                                    Hi Guy,

Sorry, I had forgotten about the Beogram 2400! I guess this was pre-Datalink, so not fully remote controlled in the way that the later 2000 and 5000 models were.

                                    Hi Adam,

That is a real bargain, I also love the sleek lines and sound of these later radial Beograms, so I’m busy finding a reason to justify keep this one!

                                    Kind regards, Steve.

                                        Hi Adam,

At least there is the new Maverick Hifi forum to replace the old Hi-Fi Wigwam Forum for our non-B&O audio needs 😉 This is at maverick-hifi.com in case anyone was wondering!

Hopefully BeoWorld will find a new owner and be restored to a new lease of life again soon…

                                        Kind regards Steve.

                                          Hi Lee (and Keith),

May I extend my thanks for the time, money and enthusiasm that you have both generously given to the site over many years. I think back happily on the many Beoworld prize draws, events and get-togethers that we have enjoyed, including the Beoworld party at the Kensington Roof Gardens nightclub in London (2010?) and the big Beoworld group visit to B&O in Struer in 2012 where we met the then CEO of Bang & Olufsen, Tue Mantoni.

I fully understand your reasons for wanting to move on and I wish you both the best for the future. I will, of course, be happy to continue offering financial support to Beoworld and any help required by the new owners in the day-to-day running of the forums, whoever they may be.

May I take this opportunity to wish Lee and Keith the very best for their future projects and to stand publicly in support of Beoworld going forward.

Kind regards, Steve (BeoWorld sponsor since 2009).

                                            Hi eprokos,

Thanks for your question and for your direct email, which I have also replied to. Guy is correct that we can take a fixed volume output from the Aux socket using an Aux splitter (linked in Guy’s post) and then I can make a cable to take the output signals from the Aux socket to your Bluetooth transmitter (please order any DIN to RCA cable on my site and request that it is wired as Aux output) so that you don’t need to switch cables.

The aux socket works as an input and an output at the same time. Any questions, please ask!

                                            Kind regards, Steve.
