Thanks, I tried this. Unfortunately this gives me the same error message.
Thanks for your messages.
What wall mounts do you use and do you happen to have a photo how you have mounted the BL17 near the ceiling?
Any view how effective it is to use the BL17 as rear speakers (when mounted near the ceiling)? Would I need to tilt them downwards when mounting?
When playing music via spotify connect how would you configure the BV? Would need to play stereo (TV and rear speakers), while playing 5.1 when playing movie. Possible?
This thread gets me intrigued about the BL17.
Would it be possible to hang or mount it close to the ceiling. I am thinking to use them as rear speakers for a BV Horizon. And then I could pay music directly to them.
Any experience on hanging / mounting them close to ceiling? Thanks!
Agree with you. It’s more subtle than the BV11, which I actually find more premium. I like the metal grill, so no complaint from me about it looks. And of course the curtains 😉
Do you have any experience with Google not allowing me to log in? This issue is really killing me and B&O support hasn’t been helpful to me (except suggesting to take it to a dealer, which isn’t easy for a wall-mounted TV of this size).
Thanks. This still keeps the screen on and displays a blackscreen? I thought there would be a way not to turn on the screen, but connect directly with the audio module?
Mine is also attached to an ATV, so I thought it wouldn’t be an issue. Not having Chromecast and Spotify Connect is still annoying. It does prevent me from fully using the TV as an audio device. When streaming through the ATV, you need to manually turn on the TV before streaming audio. If your interest is video-only, this wouldn’t be an issue.
I paid a bit less, but ballpark similar. Seems a good price to me.
I am quite happy with it. In my view superior to the Contour as it supports WISA. I understand why people complain about the picture quality, but can live with it.
One big watch-out though. I did factory-reset after buying the Horizon. Unfortunately, it does not allow me to log into Google. See my thread below. This is also confirmed by a Reddit post (not created by me). If you have the chance, I would test whether this works for you. If not, this is a massive issue (at least for me). Most importantly, this prevents me to use chromecast and spotify connect…
@SimonWeir, this reads like a very nice speaker combo. What TV or otherwise do you have the BL17 connected with? Do you just use them for movies or also for music?
Thanks!
Yes, Google has been set to 2-step authentication.
I am currently logged out. When trying to log in on my BV Horizon, it does not ask me for verifcation. It insteed gives me the error message that the credentials/password are not correct. I triple-checked and the info is correct though.
Any thoughts on my issue above?
Does anyone have a photo of a 4000x after the “kit”? It also gets “painted” if I read above correctly. Any idea what this “painting” looks like?
Probably to protect the asset value of those 50 people who paid £10k for the first/only batch of BC4000C’s
I think the 95 original buyers are well “protected”. The kit is nowhere as “good” as the original 10k offer. The original offer had a different color / polish and also carries the 4000C name/logo on it.
The 95 people basically received a “new” product, while the kit “only” provide a more professional refurbishment.
Thanks! I don’t see how you get to these menus? The Horizon is likely quite different?
Thanks!
Using it with a BV Horizon. I thought it worked below, but somehow I cannot make it work now?
To be more specific what I fail to get working:
- Hide things like “recordings” from the TV button
- Add Android home screen as selection under TV button
- Change “home button” to AppleTV (HDMI 1)
Bringing up an old thread again.
Does the BV Horizon support Spotify Connnect and/or Airplay 2?
On my Beoremote, I cannot find a way to select the HDMI port with my ATV. How can I add the HDMI 1 port to my TV button?
Thanks for all the help on this forum!
Has anyone bought the “tool” and how do the results look like? It reads like a great initiative and could get me a nice turntable although I missed the original offer.
I would need to buy a used one first. Anything to note and what part of it should I pay attention to be in good condition (and which parts don’t matter as they will be replaced anyways. Also, what are advantages of the respective models?
Indeed looking very nice.
You have it wall-mounted in a “swinging way”?
Can you post a photo of the other side of the screen and also of the “hole” where you placed the ATV?
Is this a fake wall or where do you have the powercable?
Thanks. Good to see @Millemissen on the “new” forum. I regularly frequented the old forum. The UI of the new one still need to grow a bit on me, but great to see the long-standing experts here.
Seems I will go with the Horizon.
Yes, my question is about connecting gamepad (Xbox, PS, etc.) directly to the Horizon. I can of course do to the Apple TV, but I am wondering whether I can also do so directly to the Horizon in case the Android OS is not as bad for me as many people say. Then I don’t need the Apple TV. And given it had some B&O skinning, maybe I prefer so.
Thanks. Leaning more and more towards a used Horizon though now.
You are right. Horizon even has a sound module and WISA.
One question: Is it possible to set it to start always with Apple TV? If so, do the curtains still show and can I still use beolink and googlelink/chromecast?
Also, have you tried to connect bluetooth controllers (gamepads) to the Horizon?
Thanks. For technical feasibility, the big open question is whether B&O can/will develop the sound module to include Mozart speakers in 5.1. That would basically make B&O a true Sonos competitor. I believe that’s a massive step-up in terms of development efforts.
Having a BS5 with WISA should indeed technically be very easy, but would limit the 5.1 system to Beolabs only.
