ok im THRILLED someone posted the tip on how to get rid of the LG logo on shutdown for the G2.
Can anyone figure out how to get rid of the notifications the TV gives you about sports and app updates? I get 4 popup notices every time the TV turns on and its annoying.
I also got the update. I haven’t noticed anything different. What has been solved for you?
Ive always heard the the MK1 are light on the bass and don’t sound the best so I don’t think its just you.
My god I would be all over this if it was real.
Apparently there is a bug with the theatre and the 19 right now where it doesn’t know it’s a sub and sends all the audio to it. So be sure that bug is fixed before you test it out.
So yesterday my Theatre stopped outputting video to my LG TV. After an hour of troubleshooting I figured out that the problem was the ARC cable supplied with the theatre. I think I’m not the first person to have this problem with the cheap cable. My suggestion is to replace it with a good cable proactively.
Took some new pics of my theatre now that I’ve had it about a month. Love it more every day.
So is there any way to revert back to TuneIn?
Great video. As a designer myself I love these types of stories.
I did it and regret it. 80% of the stations I listen to in TuneIn are not in B&O Radio which I am very very unhappy about.
I believe I am reading it correctly, that if I want to add two wireless speakers, the only wireless standard supported is WISA, and am I correct that when I look at B&O’s product offering on their website, for a wireless rear surround option, the BeoLab 18’s are the least expensive option at $11k per speaker? Will any of the Beosound series work via power link in a wired application?
Yes any old Beosound speakers will work with the theatre through powerlink or you add the wireless transmitter (I wouldn’t use wireless unless you REALLY had to).
I wouldn’t go with BL18’s as rears unless you have a ton of cash as it’s overkill for most rooms. You can get used BL3 or BL4000’s or even a used BL17 for rears and it should work just as well (again depends on how big the room is).
I also moved from an ARC receiver to the Theatre and it’s very seamless to use and switch inputs. It’s all not as daunting as it sounds.
There are tons on eBay.
My new Theatre BL18 and BL3’s
New software update for BST today. 2.3.4. No indication what’s new.
Ooops I saw someone mentioned this yesterday.
How does one get the BeoRemote to work with Apple TV without IR? HDMI control should do it right? But how I set that up?
How exactly does one go about submitting missing radio stations that are in TuneIn but not in B&O Radio please?
November 17, 2022 at 3:57 am in reply to: Multiroom Beoplay A9 Gen 1 and Beoplay A8 with Beosound Moment #11273The cost of the Core it better just to get a whole new B&O product like a Level for not that much money especially if you sell your A8. The Level will sound better and portable too.
Every few days my moment gets stuck on this screen and the only way I know how to get out of it is by going into the app and telling it to restart itself. I have check for updates turned OFF in the app and it still does this. Is there a way to restart the moment on the unit itself rather than the app?
I think you need to talk to your dealer. I used a dealer on the other side of my country and I got the first order they got straight from Denmark to NY then NY to Toronto and a private delivery company dropped it off in my place all before halloween.
I was in a similar situation as you where I had a Marantz 6011 receiver with pre-outs powering my BL18’s and BL3’s for about 7 years and I was rather happy with it. Marantz is really the best sounding receivers I have ever used.
But I just replaced it all with the Beosound theatre and reported my issues with it here. But to be honest once you get used to the sub menus of the app and get it set up it works very well. Better than I was expecting but I had low expectations based on previous experiences. I’m quite sure they will update the software to make things better.
In terms of experience and setup the Theatre kills the marantz. You don’t have to worry about what you plug into what speaker port. You don’t have to set crossover levels per speaker you don’t have to go through a long setup etc. The Theatre basically does the hard work for you.
In terms of sound it’s complicated. The marantz really made the speakers transparent and filled the room maybe more than was intended, but I loved that. The bass was clean and not boomy and the 5.1 surround was flawless. My only complaint is that the centre channel never sounded clear or loud enough despite a high end B&W speaker.
The theatre accomplishes a lot considering I no longer have an external sub hooked up. 90% of the time I feel like I don’t need one but there is a bit of impact at some levels I feel are missing. The theatre doesn’t seem to make quite as much use of my rears as my marantz did so I usually feel like it’s a forward stage unless something bold happens in the rear speakers. On the plus side the centre channel is always perfect. I don’t know if it’s the processing or the speaker or both. The bass is also there but it’s very clean but I feel like even if I add the sub this is just a typical B&O non-offensive level of bass. I feel it does a great job with movie audio when I throw it an atmos track but not as good at up converting older 3.1 or 2.0.
So in terms of sound difference there is a HUGE price difference between the two but I don’t see the value in that difference. The value for me is more the experience with the theatre as its more Apple like. Everything detects each other and works well with one another. It finds all the other B&O equipment in my house and will unify everything. And of course I no longer have a huge box just to process the sound, its all hidden within the theatre.
So if you just care about sound go with an external system. If you care about overall experience and design all for much more money go for the B&O.
