The mic SWITCH under the front right of the grill is on.
B&O would suggest that yes as its better to have bass in the back to counter the bass from the front BST bass speakers.
I have a pair of 18s connect to my BST as front left and right, and I set my BST front left and front right speaker as “subwoofer center” in b&o app and other BST drivers as “none”,but when playing music there’s no bass from my theatre,”true image” is on,is there anything wrong i done above?
Wait, you can set your unused L/R speakers in the BST to act as additional sub woofers?
Is HDMI control an option?
In my old setup I had B&O speakers connected to a Marantz AV system, with 3 game systems and other HDMI cables connected in a cabinet bellow. It was a hot mess of cables and a major pain to change anything. It was all hidden though including the cables.
When I got the theatre I decided to get rid of the cabinet and get the floor stand instead. The problem was I still needed to connect 4 HDMI devices like: Apple TV, XBOX, NINTENDO, PS5.
So I put all those HDMI items in the closet behind the couch and listening position. I use a Hue Sync box as well which all the HDMI devices input to and then I run a single Optical HDMI cable through concealed floorboards to the theatre. Everything turns on and off through HDMI control, I never have to interact with the HDMI devices unless I insert a DVD game. It amazingly has worked perfectly since day one, all of it.
In your case you can put the AV system tucked away somewhere and just run the one cable to the TV.

And you can wall mount your Apple TV somewhere hidden:

But honestly I just recommend the theatre. It’s rather glorious visually and the sound is amazing as well. I do suggest a Sony TV over the LG G2/3 though. Sony has much better picture processing.
This is my previous AV setup with everything in the cabinet:
This is the cabinet removed and all the cables required:
This is after the theatre and all HDMI devices in the back of room. I was using a black cable hide temporarily.
And in the end I hid them with some white cable hiders:
Hope that helps
How do you think Bl3s as rear, enough for movie?
Sounds amazing for me. They are pretty close to my listening position though about 4 feet away. I have no complains for movies and gaming. I am thinking about moving them to rear highs and buying a pair of BL 12’s just so I can add more bass to the back of the room. The BL3’s basically have no bass at all.
Last piece of insight was there was no listening position setup that didn’t benefit from having the BL19 added. So to me a BL19 should always be providing the subwoofer role, unless you are lucky enough to own 50s or 90s, even with the Theatre’s incredible bass and the bass of the 28 the 19 added richness that you can hear and physically feel. I know in the Sound guide it states 28 take bass from the 19 but in the real world to me that slightly larger subwoofer size is needed to most people’s setup.
This actually surprised me the most. I currently have the Theatre, BL18’s for fronts and BL3 for rears and I find the bass is quite intense when it needs to be especially in movies. I would think that with 28’s involved it would be more than enough? What average room size do you think is most peoples setups?
I think the trend here is the missing internet sources missing from the menu at the top.
Some people also seem to hate the new Multiroom and volume interface.
Personally my main concern with the app is generally navigating between speakers. An iOS widget would also be a blessing.
Do you have a song or YouTube video us other users can test this on? What volume level you on?
Also what is the source of all this clicking content. Have you tried multiple sources?
Either way talk to your dealer and I’m sure you’ll get them for the previous price.
Imagine someone in Japan or ANY non-english country trying to use a B&O product with the word “GO” for play.
How does “go” even apply to playing music? its such a disconnect. Instead of “go” it should be the universal standard of the right facing triangle.
Why do they have a button with a circle and one with a red bar? How does one mean power and the other something else? Whats wrong with the universal icon for power thats used on every other electronic product?
I think the biggest problem is that there is no logic or prioritization in the button layout. Everything is just a grid to make it look nice.
All those 3rd party remotes are horrid looking but they all do have more logic than the layout of the Beoremote 1 which is a masterclass of the worst designed remote ever made possibly by anyone. I dare anyone to feel their way around this remote or use it in the dark.
I came to B&O late and as a UX designer for 25 years I can certainly feel for his issues with the UI. It’s not intuitive, it for sure prioritizes design over usability and at the very least it is unfriendly from a universal language regarding interface elements such as “go” and the red power button. The radio tuner interface looks like a nightmare too.
That being said after you get used to the interface its fine. But this is a strong example of you having to adapt the the UI over it adapting to you.
Any thoughts on the setup and sound?

New beta out. Haven’t noticed anything new. Sources still broken.
I can live with the app if they just fix the missing sources and fix the compatibility when you use the iPad App on your desktop Mac.
v5.5.1 hasn’t fixed any of that sadly.
Looks like app version 5.5 released. I’m not at home right now, but has anyone tried it yet to see if it fixed the missing sources issue?
No sadly, it’s still a hot mess.
As of today my Theatre is on 3.2.1(150) from September 11. Which version is of that you mention as ‘new…today’?
Here is the “New today” version.
“Bug fix and support for beolab 8’s.”
