I agree a fully framed single unit, like the BV11 / 14 and even Contour, look super coherent and elegant, in a way that is tough to achieve with a two piece.

That said, I think they’ve done a pretty good job.

If the speaker part also got wider with 65 and 77 inch panel sizes, the whole (wider) theatre would just be so very huge – remember, in the centre speaker array part, the Theatre is 6 inches deep. Continuing that depth for 65 or 77 inches would be so so chunky, I woudl have (for me ) tipped over into unwieldy and inelegant.

Otherwise, I also a intrigued as to how TrueImage and Atmos will co-exist. Having remained firmly stuck in the 5.1 era, it makes me rather apprehensive – but I suspect it will all be fine.

I think thats right, its the product many have been wanting.

And glad to see they have gone with a full solution, and not made any big compromises and left important stuff out. Only 2 PUC controls is interesting though. Fine for me (I need 1 to talk to my matrix)….but there may be a few wanting >2 PUC controls.

Waiting to understand matrix integration, and then I’ll replace my lounge BV12 with the Theatre plus LG, and next year my Avant with the same again.

both motorised brackets / stands (wall or floor) are 2800 euro.

Yes, the wood cover is 1000 euro – same as for current BV’s I believe.

There is no static floor stand yet – maybe STB later.

the dark oak looks very nice – at least in the AR Experience app.

Though yes, the images are not super high quality

the motorise wall bracket setup places an aluminium arm underneath the Theatre – thats probably what you were seeing.

So that is different from previous motorised wall mounted BVs, where the motorised bracket / arm was all behind the screen…..

In this setup, the bracket / arm wraps underneath the Theatre….makes the whole thing a bit bigger

I’m told that the wings to extend / widen the Theatre to 65 / 77 inch also come with in the box for the one price…i.e you dont have to pay extra for those.

Dont take that as gospel, but I think that is the case – which if true, is fantastic.

Indeed – 5400/6400 (wood) is a lot, but around the same price as the existing Eclipse sound centre, so should have been expected. They couldn’t just slide in the extra surround processing board and extra connections into the Stage form factor…that was never going to work either.

I think about it like this – 5400/6400 GBP will get you something flexible (the attachable wings mean various TV sizes can be used with it), and something that will e good for 10-15 years….over that time many will go through 2 BVs…..and the Theatre price plus 2 (during that 10-15 yr period) panels will be less than the price of 2 BVs.

Its also a beast power wise, with all sorts of connectivity.

                      Deposit about to go down.

The bass management in this (lets call it) Beosystem has changed a bit…..the bass is not simply redirected to the most appropriate speaker, but is more spread to all / most / more speakers than the previous bass management system would do.

Not a great explanation I know, but just something to be aware of.

                          Everyone happy now?

Expensive, but its fully specc’ed as anyone could possibly hope for.

They look to have ticked the important boxes – design (I like) and spec’s (I like).

Agreed, that colour scheme is pretty dull to my eyes.

Pretty sure a nice combination can be found with that aluminium base.

But silver / silver as in the picture is not good.

                                Mine (my A9 MK2) updated itself on August 18th – to 2.1.50399

Havent played with it yet to see differences in integration with it, ut will report back if anything odd.

The beta version of the app is asking me to “update to new interface” and lists my A9, I guess as the eligible product for interacting with in the new way.

My BS2 has gone for repair, but I imagine exactly the same for it, when it comes back from repair.

Tend to agree – my BV12-65 is still going strong. as is my Avant 55.

Unless they produce a one piece BV of outstanding design, like the BV11 / 14 form factor, then I cant see myself buying a BV again. We’ll see how good / sensibly priced the Theatre is.

Worst value has to be the Moment, simply because it was buggy, laggy, fell short of its promise, and even when it worked was a pretty limited music experience device.

                                    Yes, as below.

I’d definitely wait as the Beosound Theatre is very close to release – a centre speaker / sound bar with all the surround AV processing built in. It will integrate with your LG and allow you to use the B&O remote.

Also, the BL28’s have such absurdly strong bass that a BL19 sub is completely unnecessary – many 28’s users have had to dial down its bass in the out of the box settings!.

As for your surrounds, etc – that’s all fine and do whatever you need, governed by room configuration / budget etc etc.

You can see a picture (which was leaked by B&O) of the upcoming Theatre on the B&O (not official) Discord server, under the BeoSound subject / thread.

You’d probably want a sub with the BL18s. That combination will be an improvement.

You won’t need one with the BL9’s, and definitely no need with BL5s. Both of these will be an improvement.

But MM is right, 6000s to 8000s will be a small incremental change only.

BL9s used / approved seems to be around 2500k, quite a bit less than the BL18s, where used pairs are quiet bit more.

Interesting, and thanks for that update.

My ASE products – A9 and BS2 (mk 1) have not updated yet.

But I agree with you last point – I also prefer the prior functionality. Now if you remove the “originating” product from playing, and all stop, you then have to go and restart the music in the app for whichever of the additional joined products you want to continue playing.

That’s a worse user experience from what I can see, I agree.

its not a complete TV, from what I understand.

But the differences may well be subtle and a bit semantic in the end.

The Theatre will most likely be separately marketed a bit more obviously than the Eclipse SC is / was. But I imagine it will be displayed in store with a panel and possibly stand. So it may not be obvious to some how it is any different a proposition than the Eclipse.

Unless the Theatre offers similar integration with other brands and not just LG, the Theatre+LG proposition may not be very different from an Eclipse.

I suspect that with the Theatre likely on the Mozart platform, it will effectively replace the Ellipse over time.

Many questions remain of course, stand and wall brackets above all.

I actually quiet like the stand in the picture!
