Also, see the last paragraph on page 7 of the user guide. It is not possible to daisy-chain the 28s, which seems like what you are trying to do.
Hope these suggestions solve your issue so you can begin enjoying the amazing sound the Theatre and 28s produce.I have 28s connected to the Theatre. My connections are one PL to left, a second PL to right, one Ethernet to left, a second Ethernet to right. I have heard that there is an issue with having the 28s directly cabled to each other when connected to a Theatre. Additionally, ensure both are on the same software. There was a recent update from version 1.8xxxxx to 2.3.4xxxxx. Even though my 28s had been working fine, when the update occurred, only one speaker took the update and then they stopped pairing. Going into the app it would show both had taken the update but going in to the system overview page of the app showed that the second speaker did not take the update. I had to do a factory reset of that speaker, remove from the system/app, and reinstall. It immediately took the update. I had the exact same issue occur with my Emerges. Also, rereading your question, it sounds like you have a PL connected to one speaker, then Ethernet between the two using the Ethernet connections on both? If you are using PL on one, I think you need to run a PL cable to the other. I don’t think they will work with only one connected to PL. You do not mention an Ethernet connection from your router? Also, as suggested by previous post, after cabling my 28s I paired them before adding to the Theatre in the app.
December 22, 2022 at 4:27 am in reply to: Adding BL19 to BeoSound Theatre worth it or needed? #12872I have a Theatre with 28s and 1s and a 19 in transit to me to try . Unfortunately I had the dealer ship it to my work address and eta is Friday, but my work will be closed until Tuesday so that is the earliest I will get it.
Your comments make me wonder about my plan to add a pair of 4000s to the Theatre/28s/1s. As you say, perhaps more is not always better.
Checked the settings on the G2…..there it does show connected to internet by Ethernet.
oh boy I want to avoid doing that as its a mess and I want the TV to get software updates. Something else I don’t know if it is a bug or not… I have the theatre connected to the LG by the special ethernet TV port. The B&O app on the TV says it’s connected fine and using any internet services on the TV also works fine. The weird thing is in network setting on the LG it says ethernet is disconnected (and wifi is set to off). Anyone else have this?
I have not looked in the LG, but when I go in to the LG app it shows my LG refrigerator and gives all of it’s information but says the G2 is disconnected.
Have watched it multiple times this year already lol
I no longer have my 50s but if my memory is correct, mine looked similar to yours.
I have a G2 and used the included flush mount wall bracket. It does allow it to be pulled out from the wall a few inches. In fact, that is how it is installed. The wall bracket is to be in the extended position when the G2 is attached to it. Once the G2 is mounted, it is then pushed flush against the wall and the bracket fold in to the recess on the back of the G2.
Ah. The salesperson at Best Buy must not have understood. He advised that the bracket that came with the G2 was strictly fixed.
I actually pulled my C2 forward a little so that it’s totally centered with the depth of the Theatre. I think it looks great floating like that.
I thought about doing exactly what you did as I thought it would look great.
@Razlaw, Have you ever added a BL2 to your BL1 speakers? It seems that most people find that the BL2 adds that extra bass that the BL1 lacks to really round out the BL1. That’s why I’m thinking that any subwoofer in the back of your setup might really add to your BL1 speakers that you like in the back. If nothing else, you can physically feel the presence during those action scenes.
Many years ago when the 1s were fronts, I had a Velodyne subwoofer connected. At the time that is what B and O dealers were selling as there was no B and O subwoofer. I don’t really remember much about how it impacted the sound.
Part of me wants to put the 19 in the rear for exactly the reason you mention. But I also want it for music with my 28s, for deep bass that can be present in organ music. For that purpose I feel like it should be in the front.

I can already notice a huge difference adding a BL2 and two BL4000 speakers for front height to my existing setup of BL9 for front, BL1 for surround, BL9 for back and BL4000 for surround height. How perfect that this coincides with today’s release of “House of the Dragon” on UHD. I’m eager to try out the scene with two dragons chasing and battling each other.
another question….I do not have a place where I could put large rear speakers. I am using my 1s as the left and right surround in 5.1. I have thought of using my 9s instead for increased bass, but like the height of the sound from the 1s. Any opinion on 9s V 1s in a 5.1 setting?
Purchased some 18s as a rear set of speakers to go with my theatre. Happy Christmas to me
I will be interested to hear your thoughts. I almost bought a pair of 18s for rears.
Do you think the benefit is more from the 4000s or the 2? I have 28s as fronts, 1s as rears, and have a 19 on it’s way to try.
I use a BR1 with my Theatre and LG G2. The four my buttons work for favorites, I have mine set for four radio stations. If you want to save a particular channel as a favorite with a satellite box, that does not work. I only used my Apple TV with the Theatre briefly but it also worked fine with the BR1. I stopped using it due to the built in Apple TV app in the G2 which the BR1 controls fine, along with the built in YouTube, Amazon Prime, and Netflix.
As for Theatre volume control when the tv is of, if you mean while listening to music, yes that works fine.
With my G2 I can bring up the settings menu with the BR1 but can not change it, at least when watching satellite. Have not tried with other sources.
Also with the BR1 you can change speaker groups.
Very good questions and I have wondered about many of them also. The only one I can give any input on are the 6000s. When I initially set up my Theatre (with BL28s as fronts) I tried 6000s as rears. I also did not hear much from them. I then replaced the 6000 with my pair of Beolab 1s. Huge difference. I now hear sound from them almost constantly. I was surprised how much difference the larger speaker made.
I would disagree completely. I have BL1s, 4000s, 6000s, 9s and 28s. I have also previously owned 50s, 20s and 12-3s. I found the 50s gorgeous and only got rid of them as they were too big for my space as I wanted a larger TV. If I could only keep one of the speakers I have, I would have said the 1s, until the 28s arrived. They are stunningly beautiful, with spectacular sound and the B and O movement magic. My BV7 was replaced with a Theatre, setting on a cabinet with a wall mounted LG. Again it is beautiful and I have not missed the BV7 for an instant. I have Emerges at work and also love them.
But, as has been frequently said here, everyone has different tastes. Some will like the new and some will not.Typo……Dish Hopper.
