      Dear community

I have been reading your latest complaints and can tell we’re still not quite there. We still have some missing items in the source menu and I will look into bringing the essential ones back for you. MM if I could ask you to post a list of the ones you are missing?

A few words on my “non-deterministic” description in my previous post. It seemed to have caused some confusion. What I mean by this is that clicking this you don’t know what will happen, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. It depends on the state of the product. This has caused a lot of confusion and this is what we’re trying to get rid of.

      Next steps

      • This version will have to go out because it also contains a lot of other additions for example for the new Beolab 8. That doesn’t mean we’re done! We have a 5.4.1 already on the way and I will try to bring back your missing sources here.
      • Some sources will not come back, and we’re working on new and fast ways for you to access your favorite music and radio sources. Bear with us on this.
      • We are also working on a proper remote in the player for TV/Soundbar products that will have a much better UI for this use case.

I will encourage all of you that still don’t feel the 5.4 is ready for your use cases to stay on 5.3.1. You can do that by installing previous versions in testflight. 5.4.1 is right around the corner.

Many thanks for all your posts and your patience. Changing the core of the app is rough, but it is needed.

      All the best

        Hi all

Thanks for all your feedback on the new version we’re looking and fixing. You will see a lot of changes in the near future to the UI to make the more intuitive and nicer to look at. Some you will like, some perhaps not, but keep the comments coming, we read it all. I have some quick comments to your posts below.

        • We should have had a better introduction to a big beta release like this, noted. We will do better.
        • The source list was groomed too much, we just released a fix an hour ago for this. Some will not come back, for example Deezer. It only worked if Deezer had just been playing. In general, sources with a non-deterministic outcome will be removed.
        • Poor performance on queue and swipe in the player. We will look into this, it is not happening in our test setup, but perhaps we need a larger queue to test with.
        • Fix the basics, you say. General navigation between products is not good. We know and we’re working on it, stay tuned for more.

        Br
