Quickly read the posts above. My view is that B&O dont make a source worthy of the BL90. Possibly the BL50 as well. Powerlink from Beo TV to BL90 (assuming we’re using the internal LG Media Player and not something worse – some Beosound connected through a MLNL converter) is not good. Wasting excellent loudspeakers on mediocre audio playback.
I am uncertain about the BS Core – which appears to be a good solution for integration but I dont see it much better than the BS Essence quality-wise and music interaction-wise.
The solution I went for was to place a Auralic Vega G2 DAC (it has a limited Roon End-Point Streamer built in) and transport the output via XLR cables. The Beo TV’s Powerlink remain connected but it needs a little consideration when swapping between the two systems as the Auralic is a third party and does not auto-shut-off like fully integrated Beo products. This is somewhat compensated by selecting signal priority, floor levels etc in the loudspeaker configuration.
There are many discussions all around on Roon. It is an excellent searcher of music but some consider it degrades music some. I cant say. Additionally, the same thing is said about MQA (that it is a scam and a means to control). Again I cant say. Certainly Auralic and Linn are totally against its implementation. You have to do your own homework on that Im afraid.
I read somewhere (trying to figure where), that either Mozart board is too expensive at the price-point or there is only limited board supply which are being prioritised elsewhere in the product range.

Yep. That’s pretty much what I was asking. I regularly put the news on in the living room and go to the kitchen which is adjacent and join my BS1 to the TV’s audio. The rooms are near enough that if the audio was out of sync I’d notice. All I have to do is a double-tap the top of my BS1 and it Just Works (most of the time). Same with the BS2 I have upstairs. This was for me B&O’s Killer App and the reason I spent what most people would regard as a ridiculous amount of money on a television. The motorised stand and PUC were the icing on the cake.
With the Essence (now transferred to my son), pressing the “0” multiple times gave access to NAS Music and Web Radio. < and > moved fwd/Bkw the NAS track or station. If the TV was switched on, then three “0”‘s cycles through and joins. With the App or BR1, one had to simply press “join” the source in the target area.

As far as I can ascertain…this is not a NL system. I can remember the days when I had an Avant 65, BS5 (via MLNL Converter) in the lounge, BV10 and another BS5 (ML) in the Sitting Room and a Western Digital NAS and Essence in the office/home network. That was all very slow and cumbersome.
The Eclipse (LG Music Player) is very handy on picking ANY network database (My music NAS, my Auralic Streamers internal server and and HDD connected to my Laptop) and thus gives you ability to select via the app. Im also sure that if I put my Astell & Kern DAP in “broadcast” mode, i.e. in DNLA mode, that too can be selected.
Must be me then, though I don’t quite see why DLNA is relevant to the scenario in question.
Because (with my limited knowledge), the DNLA is doing all the work. The B&O sources are the end-point and “open-up” a channel from a common source (the DNLA bus if you like).
- An LG Panel with Media Player
- A NAS which has appropriately formatted (FLAC in my case) music files
- Beoremote (even Essence can work to a degree) or BeoApp
As previously indicated, I cant vouch for the Theatre but only for the Eclipse
Hi, I thought I answered this as intended.
1. Devices (confirm Eclipse, not Theatre yet) need to be DNLA compliant
2. Audio devices have their radio but I think it is all shared via the BeoApp.
3. You can join TV sound to an A6 or Essence in other rooms via the App.
4. The Eclipse music player is in the LG Panel – not the sound bar. Sound bar is one part of the distribution,
5. I’m sure this is all more so with Mozart platform but 5he DLNA is the key in my opinion
Ok, Eclipse 65 owner. I run a Melco audiophile NAS as it is DNLA compliant. My Auralic systems and compatible Beosystems pick up on the Melco via my home network.
The Eclipse monitor (LG) has a built in media player that can connect to this NAS and things like your laptop if networking is shared.
The Options as I currently understand them:-
- Included with BSTheatre is a custom theatre stand (mount on cabinet, TV on wall etc)
- Motorised TV Floor Stand (must also buy a TV “spine” to connect BST to the Panel)
- Motorised TV Wall mount (also requires the TV “spine” connector)
- Static heavy duty table stand that if connecting a panel must also have this TV “spine”
I have opted for 4 in my purchase. The links to all the assemblies are further up in the thread. (post 9167)
I don’t particularly like the individuals on this show, nor the format.
However, we should all wear big boy pants and discern for ourselves. I’m a bit fed up with moderation here and censorship there not only in other places but also at times in this forum. I find it offensive that my freedoms are curtailed by others taking offence.
l believe in absolute freedom of speech and if We don’t like what is being said, or how it is said or if people light-up a stoggie while swigging a Duff, we should simply not patronise these channels we feel are offensive.
I have an original BS1 Gold Special Edition – the 1st 1000 units. (Somewhere).
In the day, it was great but compared to latter-day “Beoplay”, I don’t think they compare that well?
I’m doing some cruising on eBay at the moment looking for some useful bits here and there but the original BL8000 and BL6000 on there are looking great value at the moment.
My Theatre was expected to arrive today, but my dealer has told me that there is now a 2-3 week delay. I went ahead and bought an LG C2 77″ so that I won’t face frustration with the Beoremote One control. It looks like they’ll both be arriving at about the same time. I’ll be moving my Samsung 75″ 4K screen and Beosystem 4 to the den to replace my Beovision 4-42. I love the brushed aluminum frame on that Beovision 4, but it’s time to make the upgrade from 720p to 4K.
Mine was due next week but told today it’s delayed 10-14 days due to transport problems. Find this BS actually, unless they are using French truckers and fuel is in short supply.

I don’t think it matters what was done, mule deck (of any kind) or original. Some people paid £10k for a product called the BC4000c.
Someone offering up a poor quality eBay BC4000 for refurb, spending £5k to have B&O sort it won’t ever happen. B&O will lose credibility.
However, it may be they can accept someone sending a wreaked eBay BC4002 for refurb and it leaving the factory as a well sorted, modernised BC4002.
that was my original point and it has little to do with deck variations and original design quality. It’s all about releasing a limited run product with a name (bc4000c)
Probably to protect the asset value of those 50 people who paid £10k for the first/only batch of BC4000C’s

There are 3 BR1 user guides…. .1605….1405 and the netfix/Amazon version based on the BR1 button layout

As indicated, I can only give you the Eclipse menu system and assume the Horizon is similar.
Try Home button >> Settings >> Sound & Beolink >> Sources or something similar

OK, I’ll assume the Horizon has the same menu system as the Eclipse.
In Sources, go into each BV listed Source. One by one.
In each one, at the bottom of the specific source, you can assign the Source to “TV-List”, “Music-List” or “None”.
Hopefully, this answers what you require – or at least points you in the right direction?

There are many rabbit-holes with BR1. First….what TV are you using? I can only compare to eclipse but assume the workflow is the same in any BT-controlled TV?

I believe the BSE was a good system….especially with the Essence remote control. The BSE would dial-in my DNLA music server and the interweb for Radio.
Where the BSE is somewhat dated is in certain aspects of the BeoApp. Integrated round the house music was a plus but the lack of provision for searching and layout of music (by Album art).
For your application, it appears you do have an adequate setup and it seems to work effectively for you. The BL17s are no slouches and a B&O sub (BL11 or 19 – BL2 may be too slow) will integrate easily and crossover effortlessly. I would have to see the 3rd party sub to work-out how well that can be integrated.
