Thank you for Sharing your experience. In my app every single device asks for migration confirmation. In the „beta case“ (thanks for the link) you are displaying that the migration will convert all devices present in the network at once (that´s how I understood it). Do you know, if this is still the case or can be done now device by device?Kind regards,
Rolf

It is a somewhat funny update!
It is unfortunately so that every device (read: every ASE device) will get the same information from the app – there is no way to exclude any of them. However, they need to be fully sw updated. Otherweise they won’t play from the B&O Radio station list, but will still from the TuneIn list as before.
Meaning: if all devices are updated, you only get B&O Radio, after you have migrated…..even if the TuneIn list in the app is still there.
So either keep the devices at a previous not supporting sw (which I would not do permanently) or do not migrate. If you migrate and then see your previous station list as a mess, you will have to delete all, start over and add the stations you want there.
Beware, there is no option (yet) for reordering – you will have to add them in the order, that you want them to be.
(That is what I had to do again, after updating the firmware of the device, that did not autoupdate). My advice = make a copy of the TuneIn list/a screenshot, if you want to recreate your previous list.
But know that when you add, you add from the end – you will have to add the station, that you want at the first place as the last one added.
This indeed is a bit awkward! However, once you have done the migration and the reordering, the B&O Radio works well….I have no complaints there.

It works on a M5 too, I can play Beoradio

And was your new list just like the old TuneIn list???

Honestly….I’d wait a while.
This does not seem to be 100% working yet.
I did this a couple of weeks ago (beta update), when it was offered.
See this thread: https://beoworld.dev.idslogic.net/forums/topic/bo-radio-2/One of my devices however, had not been automaticly updated, so I had to do this manually today.
After that I again was prompted to migrate (although I already had done that back then and my other devices were working well with the B&O Radio). The first time I did it, my stations were completely mixed up – I had to delete all and build the list from scratch again.
Naive as I am, I thought they had sorted this issue, so I did it once again……….with the same result as the first time.
Because the list in the app is global for all (supported) devices, I now have to build the list once again ?So, not saying that one should not do it now.
But you should be aware that you may face the same problems and that you maybe will have to spend time recovering the list in the new B&O Radio afterwards.I am very interested in hearing about the experience of other users….maybe this is just so in my case ?

-The speaker roles are noticeably limited when compared with what’s available on the Beosystem 4. For example, I was going to add more speakers for the Wide roles, but Wide is not an option for external speakers. Also, there is no role for middle hight speakers — only front and back height. The Dolby Atmos setup diagrams provide for the additional “left and right surround 1” roles — a back counterpart to the front “wide” roles. However, those roles are not options.

Which are the possible ‘Speaker Roles’ at time being?
Can you set up the system (the speaker connections) manually and make a micophone calibration after that?MM
Thanks – I am also for the simple (round) table stand.
I’d like my tv solution to be as close to the wall as possible…..without having to hang it there.
Also I like the looks of the Theatre with the tv mountedon top better, because you only see the front half of it.
From a design point of view it seems a more balanced solution to me…..the soundbar is rather big on its own.MM
That is always the problem ?
You look and look for the right solution….and can’t find it.
Then you go for something temporary……..which stays so untill you again make a change in the setup ?
That said – I hope that you/Mr10% find something better soon, because that solution in the picture certainly does not do the Theatre and the 90’s justice.
Question @Mr10% – you went for the table stand.
Is that made far or near (dependent on how the platter is turned)?
How far from the wall is the backside of the LG tv?MM
Maybe this helps…
MM
Oh sorry – you’re right!
My mistake ?

I am not aware that the BS Core has an optical/digital out connection.
It is just for an incoming signal.
MM
You have two commands going to TuneIn….maybe that is the problem:

Can custom URLs be entered in B&O Radio?
I have a few stations that I can’t listen to directly from TuneIn or B&O Radio.—————
I am not aware that this is possible.
A few posts further up member Mark wrote:
“Tunein had some internet radio stations that I listen to that B&O Radio didn’t initially have. I made a request to B&O to see if they could add them and they did shortly after”.Maybe they can add your missing station as well………worth a try, I guess.

Maybe this will help:
You do not need a ML Power Box there.

As I have understood it, you want to have sound from your tv as well as from your your turntable to either the Theatre or the BL18’s, right?
The 18’s do have multiple inputs (please consult the user guide)!
However, if you want to connect the turntable – which would be via the analog R/L input – you will need a (2 channel) preprocessor of some kind with a volume control in between = there is no volume control on a turntable and no volume control on the BL18’s either.
Connecting a tv would in most cases mean that you’d use the optical out of the tv…..which again will not have a volume control (almost 100% of all digital SPDIF outputs from a tv are at line level volume). So you’d also need a preprocessor for this – it could be one used for both sources with one connection to the BL’s.
This is something that is already built in to the BS Theatre!!!
The Theatre is built to accept a HDMI return channel signal from the tv (in order to play the sound from there and to have volume control).
Your old Bravia maybe has no HDMI/ARC (and certainly no eARC) – older tv’s mostly only have an optical output for sound.
In this case I’d certainly consider exchanging that for a more recent 55” tv…..these do not cost much nowadays – personally I’d prefer an LG C1/G1.
Something that you can check before changing the setup. The Theatre also has an analog input (via USB dongle), that can be used for the turntable/the phono preamp.
Apart from all these connection and convinience considerations, you also should be aware of the importance of a strong center channel (which the Theatre features).
This is important when watching movies, especially if more people are watching (read: listening).
If you have a set of 2 channel aka stereo speakers, you depend heavily on the placement (of the speakers and the listeners) for a strong virtual/phantom center channel – means you’d have to sit right in the sweetspot! If your main purpose is listening to music (from the turntable), the BL18’s might be the better choice.
If you use a mix of music and movie/tv listening, you’d better go for the BS Theatre imo.As for the connection of the turntable, you should be aware that a long cable from the turntable to the speakers/the Theatre will decrease the sound (higher noice floor and maybe even hum) – cables for analog connections should be as short as possible.
Best place the turntable near by the speakers (the 18’s)/the Theatre.Much to consider before you make the choice ?

Not totally wireless, but almost.
Assuming that you will go for a BS Theatre, you could get an M3 (probably preused).
This has a line-in connection with line sense, where you can connect the turntable (via the riaa preamp). If you want it in the same room, you can set the start volume of the M3 to zero. After setting up/configuring Beolink the correct way, you will be able to listen to the sources of the M3 (in your case probably only the turntable/line-in) on the Theatre. The M3 can be hidden away.
If you are not familiar with this configuration, you’d perhaps need some professional help…..unless you are the experimental type of person ?Also be aware that your wifi network should be stable in case you are not using wired connections to your router.
I know of no other way to get the sound of a turntable ‘wirelessly’ into the Beolink network.
N.B. You can use a BS Essence MK2 or a BS Core the same way – just don’t connect any speakers there.P.S. In case you go for the BL18’s, you must have an Essence MK2 or a Core, where these can be connected – the BS Theatre is an audiosystem and speakers in one unit.

This morning there was a beta app update….which I did install.
It showed me the introduction to the ‘new ui’ and also offered the option of converting from TuneIn to B&O Radio….which then would give you the stations as you are used to – see picture. Meaning an update for all capable devices.
Obviously it was/is a general conversion for all devices – not per device.I did as described – which was rather easy.
Unfortunately this conversion was not complete, only some of my previous TuneIn stations were available in the new B&O Radio part – and also pretty randomized.
As you can see in this pictureOf course I have immidiately made a feedback via the app and am now waiting for answers.
I post this, if someone else (also beta testing) should want to try this out.
!!!Maybe you should wait a sec!!!The TuneIn station list is still visible in the app. However, the stations are not accesable, since all has defaulted to B&O Radio.
Of course I will post as soon as I hear from the app team.
I guess a workaround would be to add the missing stations….but that can not be a solution for everyone.

If the BV7 used by THEIN has the option of assigning a HDMI input to ‘TV’, it is a later version!
With the earlier versions one could not do this.
Also it depends on the SW version of the BV….not just the actual BV type/version.MM
November 5, 2022 at 10:05 am in reply to: BeoVision 7: change/switch assignments on Ben 4 remote #10748You basicly want to ‘swap’ both.
This can only be done if you reassign one of the inputs to something different (in order to free up the button on the remote).
After that you can change the other and (because that button now has been freed), you can give the first one the ‘name’ that you want.Short….if you want to use the Beo4-button – that you already use – for another input, you will have to free the input of its assignment before you can go on.
MM
It’s not great. Tunein has way more options.

Could you please describe the differences.
