The new Steven Wilson album.
I bought the standalone Blu Ray disc primarily because I wanted to listen to this album in lossless Atmos.

Wait a minute…
….the Core and the A9 can both be part of a B&O multiroom setup – of course the Core also need the speakers.
If one wants to stream from external to these devices, it is possible via Airplay 2 or Chromecast (depending on ones priorities) – e.g. for Tidal and Apple Music. The B&O devices also support Tidal Connect with the recent update.
You can use B&O Radio and the built-in sources on both and let the second join the first, if you have already started playback. The big question here is how to make the cable management, if you prefer the physical connection.
Since there is no PL-out in the 19 and only one PL-out in the Core, you will have to use a splitter (and do the bas management via the controls on the BL19). All doable, but needs to be well planned.Sure, the easier way would be to go wireless/WiSA.
However you will then need a Transmitter 1 https://bangolufsenassistentgohe.blob.core.windows.net/manuals/APPS_AND_ACCESSORIES/BEOLAB_TRANSMITTER_1/3511267_1310_UG_BeoLab_Transmitter_1_v1_3_Web.pdfAnd – as mentioned – WiSA is not everywhere the optimal solution.
I know of no B&O device – apart from the Beovisions/BS Theatre – that has WiSA built-in……stay away from the BS Moment, please.
It should be possible to use the Ever Solo as a player for the BL17/19-Transmitter combo – toslink out and toslink in.
But you will not be able to stream from the Solo to the A9.
You can stream from extern (via a mobile device) using Airplay2 or Tidal Connect to either one or to both.I am not sure how the volume control on the Ever Solo using toslink out will work???
Using the BS Core it is much easier, when it comes to volume control….just use the B&O app and/or the Beoremote One.Hope this helps a bit.

I guess it is just a ‘set-designer-thing’.
Unlikely that he/she should know anything of this.MM
Missing linked sources in the BST is not an app issue, but a software choice for all Mozart-based……so it seems.
When B&O talk about keeping legacy products alive, they also should realize that – at least – some of us want to have these integrated with/connected with the new products.
But that is not for the app team to decide.
MM
This is how it looks for my Theatre.
Sure, I did not expect to see any linked sources there (I wonder if that will ever come with a Mozart product?)
I see lots of what I do not need there.
Why display the internal HDMI’, which I do not use?
Let me pick what I should see there – and the order.
Apart from the tv-tuner, I do not use the internal LG sources – why do the LG Channels or the Media Player etc show up there? Here is how it looked previously.
Admitted not well thought through either (I do not use YouSee Play), but still more like how I use the BST….including Spotify Connect, B&O Radio and Standby (which does not show in that screenshot).
P.S.
A similar comparison with new/old app for my V1 tv is even worse ?Is my use case so far off from what the betateam tests?
MM
So, at least the source arrow show up on my iPad too.
However, this is how it looks (read: this is my only option on my M5……if there was anything connected there – not even the option to turn off the device/all can be found there). And this is the same with a pre 5.4.0 beta version
I can access what is in my setup from there ?
Please notice that there is more in that menu than what the screenshot shows —— I can swich to the Spotify app directly from there and I can turn off the device/all from there.Sorry, beta team – I can’t use the new beta ?
MM
I’d say….wait for the BL8’s, before you decide.
MM
I did that too!
Up untill now the beta versions were fine to have running on my main iPad.
But not anymore.
This beta is absolutely unworkable in my setup (with a NL/ML Converter in the mix – for my 6500 CD player/6500 Master – and several ASE-based devices plus the BST).Could it be that the app team has only the new Mozart-based devices in mind and that the app is only tested on mobile phones?
Would be rather sad ?P.S.
Still have the beta running on another iPad here….just to see how it evolves.MM
You can not get anything but the sound of the cd player of the BC2 from the coax-out of the BC2/Master Unit.
That is the reason to use the Core.
If I understand the setup of Yann correct?
MM
I have had my ATV connected to the BST right from the start (don’t use any of the inputs of the LG, except for the eARC).
I use the ATV as my main source (it is PUC controlled, no CEC).
I have had no issues after the update.MM
What are ‘non essential inputs’?
Seeing the remaining inputs, I’d say that approximately all inputs were non essential to the eyes of the UX designers ?
In his post on the previous page Thomas/Mr Andersen calls them “sources with a non-deterministic outcome“……whatever he means by that ?
MM
I wonder why this screen shows the arrow at the top by ‘tv’ and mine does notBecause you’re running this morning beta, and the triangle was added to this afternoon’s beta ?Go to TestFlight to get the latest version.Sorry, I am running the latest/the second beta – Version: 5.4.0 (5.4.0.23092044593)
Here is another screenshot.By the way, I can activate the ATV (which was the last activated source yesterday) using the play button and I can move the cursor there using left/right.
No option for up/down – no option for standby – no option (the still missing arrow/triangle) for activating any other source of the BST.This makes it pretty much useless.
MM
I know that non essential inputs were removed
———
What are ‘non essential inputs’?
MM
are you experiencing the same / similar issue?
No, none!
But that may be because live tv in Denmark generally is 2.0 (they gave up on 5.1 years ago because the viewers complained).
When I write ‘live tv’ this is from the built-in OTA-tuner/LG.Question – if you watch via an external box?
Don’t you have an option to let the box send a 2.0 PCM signal?MM
Thank you Thomas for reading and observing.
I also just received the second release of the new beta and want to share for other beoworlders, what I send as beta feedback.
”Another new version of the beta…..
I had hoped for some improvements.
Opening the player (of my M3 and the BST) offers me this.
How am I to choose a source to play?
I can’t start any playback from here – it just says ‘tv’ or ‘Ingen kilde/No source’.Sure, I can go to the main page to start Netradio or access the files on my NAS.
Or I can play from extern via Connect (Spotify/Tidal) or Airplay/Cast.
But where are the sources that used to be hehind the 3 small dots?
How do I (on one of my many ASE based products) access my connected CD Player, how do I access a device on the line-in of a connected device or how do you access the built-in Deezer? There is still a lot missing – seems that this player is for people, who access their device/s from without the B&O app and who simply wants to control which other devices to play in the multiroom setup.”
This beta is – still – absolutely unuseable to me.
Would be nice to see some roadplaning for the app.
I am really tempted to roll this back to the previous 5.3 build ?N.B.
As you can see, this is the app on my iPad.
Whether it behaves different on other devices/iPhone I don’t know.By the way – it would be nice to know on which devices you are real life testing, before releasing the beta?
P.S.
I miss the volume ring!
That was some of what made the app special.
You can find these simple slider volume thingy in any other app ?MM
I have to be careful what I say because of any potential NDA issue. I have reviewed the operation of the new BeoApp 5.4.0 and gave comments back on its usability and other issue.
There’s no NDA on the Beta app
So, maybe Mr10% is a beta beta tester!
Yes, that is from an iPad. I am definitely not going to test that on any other of my devices…..it is far away from being finished – even for a beta version.
It is interesting – and disturbing – that the Android version seems to be rather different from the Apple version.
Can’t say if it looks cheap – maybe just different.
The previous version sure had/has some quirks, but it worked for my purposes.MM
It should not be that hard to update the PUC.
Come on B&O!
MM
You could use one of the MyButtons for Live TV and set the startup volume somewhat higher there.
Sure that does not solve ‘the problem’….if there is any – but it makes things less annoying.
