I think the question I would ask is it really a Mark 1 Beolab 3500 or is it a LCS9000 which looks exactly the same, but the early versions had modified software?

Check the B&O label in the back..

Is it really just as simple as that to change the voltage input?

          Yes it is..

Most older B&O products use transformers with at least two primary windings. When these windings are placed in parellel then it uses 110 volts and when in series its 220 volts..

In this case they have gone beyond or extended the two primary windings to allow voltages of 100 & 120 volts with 230 & 240 volts.

            Mark,

I can confirm that Lee is fine, but for sometime now he has been working on a new project unrelated to B&O.

I will let Lee give you an update when he is ready..

it is not your password. When you posted a pic here or in an other forum you find the most pics in google search again. Then everybody can copy that pic and can use it. That is not under the law but the most people give it a sh*t of that.

You may think no one cares about the image copyright laws, but many large organisations have departments or external companys working for them who go around web sites including ebay to check if any of their images are being used without permission.

When they find an image posted by an individual or organisation they will normally contact them and request either that they remove the image and delete the image or pay a copyright fee. If the person or organisation declines to do either option, then expect a lawyers letter.

Over the years Beoworld has had many (greater than 20) letters about images posted on Beoworld with a couple ending up with legal letters and potential court action.

If you look HERE on the UK government web site it gives a good overview of the law.

The copyright laws are similar in the US with the major difference being that almost all large corporations have people checking for copyright infringements.

The bottom line is if you created the image in any form, then you own the copyright unless you have sold or given permission to use it.

So, if you have made the image you post on Beoworld, no problem because you posted you own image.

I have had all my Beocom 6000’s Mark 2 connected using VOIP for some years without a problem. I am not on Virgin, but my comments below relate to any ISP.

There is fundamentally two methods you can use with total success and they are:-

                  1. Use a Router which has analogue sockets such as the Draytek 2830vn (Shown below)
                  2. Use a Cisco SPA112 two line phone adapter (Interface shown below)

I use method number 2 and have a free SIP account with Sipgate.

Other points to note is that BT uses (3) wires at the master box. Pin 3 on the master box is ring indicator which in the master box is linked by a capacitor to one of the line wires and two wires go around your house to slave sockets. If incoming calls are not ringing, then your problem is related to pin 3.

Both options above get over this problem because their outputs are as if you were plugging your phone into a BT master socket. Also check if you are using 2 or 4 wire RJ11 cable, you need four wire.

It could be the battery given you say it drained when left overnight.

If you do decide to change the battery the instructions of how to do it are belowMoment 1

You don’t say what kind of issues you are having with your Beolab 5?

Based on the B&O web site there are only two partner company’s in Illinois with one in Chicago and you can get the address and phone details HERE

When you try and read a CD does the disk make a small movement, then the words “Pause” appear in the display. If yes, then the laser is 99% the problem.

For the Mark 2 & 3 the laser assembly can still be obtained. However, if you have a Mark 2 BS9000 there are two different laser assemblies.

Well, the tuner has preset adjustments which may have been changed causing the problem.

Also we are not 100% sure of the model type because of the damaged label, but we could find out for certain by putting the unit into test mode.

To put the unit into “Test Mode” do the following:-

                            • Unplug the unit form the mains outlet wait 2 minutes
                            • Plug unit into mains outlet and within 30 seconds press DOT 2650
                            • The display will show 8888 when unit is in Test Mode

NOTE: DOT above means standby button

When in Test Mode press 08 to display tuner variant

                            • 0 in display means tuner error
                            • 1 in display means EU but not UK
                            • 2 in display means UK
                            • 3 in display means USA
                            • 4 in display means Japan

You will need to get a copy of the service manual if you want to check the tuner adjustments as its not that simple.

I could not find the 3 digit number but the serial number is 2457516 and I am pretty sure the system is imported from Danmark. Any suggestions?

There is always a FOUR (4) digit type number on every B&O product unless the label has been removed. If it was purchased second hand from someone in Denmark other than B&O then it will be FM only.

The Beosound Century was configured depending on market area and can be checked by the four digit type number:-

                                • Type number 2651 is EU countries excluding UK and had FM Only
                                • Type number 2652 is UK and had FM, LW, MW
                                • Type number 2653 is US & Canada and had FM, LW, MW
                                • Type number 2654 is Japan and had FM, LW, MW

If you have a type number 2651 then MODE change will not work. Please check type numbers. If it is one of the other type numbers then the instructions you were using are correct. See below for confirmation.

                                  The short answer is Yes

The long answer is most older B&O products had mains transformers with two primary windings.
When the two primary windings are put in series its for 220 volts and in parallel for 110 volts

The CDX has such an arrangement as you can see from the image below taken from the CDX manual. Apologies for the poor image quality

Pictures never have been easier to insert compared to the previous forum. I’m not aware of size limitation and I always reduce the pictures I post to around 1000px on the largest border. If you have difficulties posting pictures and because I believe they can really help in that specific topic, please reach any moderator or report the issue in the dedicated topic.

I did not add any limitations on size of images that can be uploaded.
However the limitation is the width of the forum itself.
                                    No uploaded images are modified.

You will not find the software on-line because B&O just added it to the recovery partition. You then go into the recovery via the BIOS. However as your disk apparently has totally failed you will need to get an disk image from another Beomedia 1Beomedia

The short answer is it will take the same length of time.

The long answer is whilst the TV does have a boot up time, the main delay is the Masterlink power on sequence even if you don’t have something connected to the Masterlink.

There is nothing on this forum which controls your Apple iPhone “Reader Mode”

It is a feature that is in Safari browser which Apple believes improves your reading of the site better. A simple google search will tell you all about it and how to disable it.

Here’s how to turn Reader mode off for all Safari pages:

                                            Open the Settings app.
Scroll down and tap on Safari.
Scroll all the way down and tap on Reader.
Tap the green All Websites toggle to turn it off. The toggle will turn gray.
