That’s something which originally did think may have been the issue but managed to solve with trial and error despite this
Just listening to the Calm app unwinding at the end of the day, usually use the H95’s but battery was low so resorted to using the E8 3.0’s instead… can’t beat the clarity of B&O headphones
We’re getting into the Christmas spirit with Now That’s What I Call Music The Christmas Album 1985 on the Beogram 5500
Hi Paul I’ll do my best
step 1. Go into menu
step 2. Scroll to Base
step 3. Scroll to Remove Handset and click ok
step 4. Unplug PTSN Line for at least 2 seconds
step 5. Plug the PTSN Line back in… the light should flash green indicating it’s ready for registration
step 6. The BeoCom handset should say register to base… click okay
step 7. The base should then come up on the display… click ok to register
hopefully that should be everything
hope that fixes the issue
I had the same issue when Virgin transferred me over to VOIP, took days to resolve with trial and error but what finally worked for me was deleting all BeoCom’s off the BeoLine transmitter, unplugging it for awhile then powering it back up and reinstalling the phones… hope it works for you
For some reason before that it would ring once, pick up then hang up.
Will report I’m just one of those people that’s not very good at getting someone in trouble.
Only place that image was posted/used was the old forum in a show your B&O, only use eBay to buy

Thank you everyone for your help… you fixed it ?
Your post Dillen made so much sense and was everything I was experiencing, can’t believe it was something so simple.
Die_Bogener thank you for the image really had no idea which was the suspension and doubt I’d have had the confidence to touch and fix the Beogram without.
Have to admit I was nervous touching it, sadly Beograms are getting harder to find and get parts for which is a shame, would be a great move on B&O’s part if they did a classic restoration and sales service (like Aston Martin Works) keeping their products alive and going forever, it’ll be sad when they no longer exist.
Thank you again everyone
Thank you all for replying
Maybe worth looking into how to adjust the suspension and do you as you suggested Dillen not sure if it’s sitting a tad low, mainly play vinyl that this BEOGRAM would have played when released from the late 80’s early 90’s so not a problem but finding most new releases or reissues are 180g, still not even sure that’s the problem but makes sense due to it only happening with heavier vinyl. All seems fine in that regard, looking at it closely I’m starting to think it’s the platter clearance in some way, only really happens on modern 180g vinyl not the older records that I think are 120/140g so starting to think it could be the suspension, platter isn’t quite 12” and the edge of the record overhangs the surrounding plate
Just a quick question is the plastic guard cap down on the cartridge? If not flicked up fully this can cause it to just skip across a record!

Guy I remember that competition and you was the lucky winner, I’m in love with that turntable the Beogram 6500 in white is quite possibly thee most contemporary out of all the Beogram’s for a modern interior, currently have a 3000 but the white 6500 is next on my list and you have the best one out there, clean with Sir Roger Moore has a previous owner, I’m envious and hope you’re able to get it back out once Moore.
