I presume that the BC6000 was originally connected to another base that you own, known to it as ‘Base 1’ (with your phonebook stored).
If this is the case, your phone still has registration to ‘Base 1’ stored – even though it is currently connected to a different base (Beoline 2) to make calls. Perhaps the BC6000 can only reset the first base that it is connected to, and this is not currently the Beoline.
You could try resetting the BC6000 handset: Dot 7 000 9 OK.
Then re-register the BC6000 to the Beoline 2 and try the Dot 7 000 8 OK trick to reset the Beoline 2.
However, I do know that there are software incompatibilities between older handsets and newer bases, so perhaps you simply cannot reset a Beoline 2 from a Mk1 BC6000.
I can’t think of any other suggestions, apart from disconnecting everything (perhaps even removing phone batteries), leaving it overnight and trying again tomorrow. Beocom/Beoline registration can be quite temperamental and sometimes it takes a bit of patience and luck!
I forgot to say that after pressing Dot 7 000 8 you should press OK (centre of wheel).
Does that make any difference?
Unfortunately I only have Beocom 6000 Mk1 so no INT button.
To reset the base from a connected BC6000 Mk1, press Dot then 7 000 8
(‘Dot’ is the button to the left of the wheel between A and V)

I am not in the market for a new TV at the moment, but once my BV10-32 fails (or I want something bigger) I’ll certainly consider a 2nd hand BV7 stand, Beolab and the BM7 adaptor.
To be honest the stand turning function is the main reason that I have not already switched to a non-B&O TV. And the sound quality, and the Beo4 … ?

You mentioned being able to use the trusty BL1000 to control the lights. Does anything else in the house respond to IR?
Unless at A.OPT 0, I assume that the BM/BG6500 can be controlled by IR, but only once it has been selected as a source via the MCL/ML link mentioned above. Does FM radio work? ?

Maybe try resetting the base using the connected Beocom 6000. Perhaps it has too many phones registered to it.
Assuming the Beocom 6000 is a Mk2 (with an INT button) enter the sequence 9#9#9* and press INT. Use the scroll wheel and choose reset base.
EDIT: I think you can also reset the Beocom 5 using the same 9#9#9*INT sequence.
This looks very interesting – I have just read through all the details on the site including the installation instructions.
I have one question: How does the BM7 adapter control the TV? Having itself received 455 kHz IR commands from the B&O remote, does the adapter then transmit a new 38kHz IR signal to control the TV?
Furthermore, if as you suggest the adapter box is sited behind the TV (for aesthetic reasons), are there any problems with a typical TV receiving the 38kHz IR signal?
Great news – I am still a bit confused about the TV’s SW version (your screenshots didn’t seem right for a Beo4 model) but good news that you got it working!!

A copy of the Tuning page would be very useful thanks, especially if it explains how to turn Dec Off to Dec On. I assume that it says to use the TURN button?? I just realised that the early BL1000s (pre-LIGHT button) had a stand alone TURN button so there was no need to use SHIFT PICTURE or SHIFT SOUND.
I’ve replied! Once we have the solution we’ll post it here so that others can benefit.
In the meantime (as put in my PM) I think your MX7000 is the older Type 33xx which is designed for the Beolink 1000 remote. It should be possible to do what I explained with the Mk1 AV button Beo4, but we are also slightly hampered by the lack of a user guide for the early MX7000 – the ones available on Beoworld are for the later Type 78xx and 87xx versions designed for Beo4 operation.

On the Beolink 1000, the key sequence SHIFT PICTURE or SHIFT SOUND is the same as pressing TURN on the Beo4 remote. TURN can be added to the LIST function but is only then available after pressing V.TAPE or V.MEM. (Cover the end of the remote if you don’t want V.TAPE or V.MEM to be transmitted to the TV)
I think you have an older version of the TV that was actually introduced when the default remote was a Beolink1000 (without a screen). I am guessing a bit here but give this a go:
Firstly I think that you need to add TURN and STORE to the LIST function of the Beo4 remote (using the ADD function of the remote menu I describe earlier).
Then turn the TV on by pressing TV.
Press GO (the cue TUNE appears on the screen).
Use the number pad to key in 0 7 5 (or any random frequency)
Use the Beo4’s LIST button to select TURN, and then press GO several times until ‘dec on’ is shown on the tune screen of the TV.
Use the LIST button to select STORE, and press GO.
Press the number 1 – to store the TV preset as 1.
Use the LIST button to select STORE and press GO again.
You should be able to get to the tuning menu by using Menu button (on remote) then choose Setup (on TV screen) then choose Tuning (on TV screen). Then you should be able to use the remote arrow to move to the right and change Dec to On.
I would hazard a guess at Samsung, but your best bet is to take the TV apart and look for a label!
I contacted an eBay seller recently to point out an error in his listing. He had stated that a BV10-32 stand would fit ‘many other TVs’. In a friendly manner I pointed out that this was not the case. I did this mainly to protect potential B&O buyers and avoid their disappointment.
Anyway, he became firstly very defensive, and then aggressive and rude in his responses to my messages. He also stated stated that he was a ‘dealer’ (although not listed as such on eBay). I reported him to eBay for both being rude and being a ‘dealer posing as a private seller’. I am not sure what action eBay took (they don’t let you know) but his listings disappeared and re-appeared a few days later under a different username! Buyer beware!

However, if you had previously uploaded the photo to eBay (e.g. to sell the TV) then other users can use your photo in their own listings.
A further thought: If your VIRGIN internet modem/router has built in DECT*, then you may be able to connect Beocom 6000s straight to it cordlessly without using the B&O PSTN. I have used Beocom 6000s like this in the past (with a German router) – there will be reduced functionality but calls in/out should work fine.
* I just opened a webchat with Virgin to see if any of their hubs had built in DECT – unfortunately I very much doubt that the virgin ‘assistant’ understood my question! I would take his answer with a pinch of salt, but he did say: ‘Our Hub 3 and Hub 4 has a built in DECT, alright?’
Personally I would have a look in the router’s menu and see if there are any landline/DECT connection options.

I do have BC6000s but am still on a traditional analogue connection via PlusNet, hence no experience of VOIP – yet!
However, assuming that the cable between the phone (little 3-way junction box) and the router is an RJ11 to RJ11, have you experimented with an RJ11 ‘crossover’ cable rather than a ‘straight through’ connection? (or vice versa if you are already using a crossover.) This has fixed a similar problem for me in the past.
It’s worth a try. And I think we are going to get more and more of these questions in the future as UK goes digital!
Your alternative is to choose a different VOIP provider, use a stand-alone analogue-to-VOIP adaptor and just use Virgin as the broadband ‘bearer’ – the third party adaptor would simply connect to one of your router’s RJ45 sockets.
However, it does not remember the order you add the LIST functions. If I add V. TAPE 2 first and then SPEAKERS, SPEAKERS come up before V. TAPE 2 anyway.
When you add a new function it moves it to the start of the LIST by default. Hence you should add functions in the reverse order that you wish them to appear, if that makes sense.
In the meantime it could still be worth trying that ‘decoder’ trick that I mentioned in my last paragraph.

If it has a LIST button then it is almost certainly a Beo4. I don’t think that early versions (pre SW 4.4) had the MOVE function. But if it does, here’s how to use it:
If it doesn’t have the MOVE function, then you could delete all the functions from LIST and then re-add them in the order you require.
If the remote is a ‘hotel’ version then it may have restricted functionality and not offer many of the functions that you mention. These usually have a slightly different button layout and a separate MUTE button.
If you are not using the TV function, there is a way to use the TV button to select the AV2 SCART input – basically by going to the TV’s SETUP then SOCKETS menu and choosing ‘Decoder’ as the AV2 input. Then go to the TUNING menu, choose TV channel 1 and change the Decoder setting to ‘On’. Pressing TV will then choose the AV2 input.
