Moved it into another room, no change. Bottom tuning lamp is very dimly lit, and doesn’t seem to change much as you search stations.
Bluetooth module is mostly working well, though I have the wifi router right next to it so it picks up a lot of noise. Even a cd in between seems enough to cut it down quite a lot. Sorting that out properly is a job for another day, right now I am pretty happy to have the whole thing back together, and working, even if the tuning lights aren’t quite doing their thing.
Reception seems really strong, no static and otherwise clear and I have a lot of stations to choose from down here. I suppose I could try it in a different room.
I didn’t replace any of the trimmers in the FM section, only in the amp.
No, haven’t touched the lamps. Like I said, they did work, albeit only briefly. I don’t think I’m getting stereo reception either, as it happens. Mono switch makes no difference to sound.
Hooked it all up and…it works, mostly. No FM stereo, tuning lights, and stereo lights don’t come on. Though it does find stations in roughly the right places. For the moment though, it’s progress.
Well it took a while to get back to it…
Here is the tuner board installed in the BM2000:
I had to replace the string as the original had broken, and that was a bit of a nightmare as I’d not done it before. I needed to have quite a lot of tension for the indicator to keep moving, and I’m not sure if it is too much tension, but at least it runs smoothly now from end to end.
It has been around 3 years or so since I started this project, with C19 related things keeping me out the country, but it just about done. Refit of some lamps, resolder another, and fix a couple of the preset tuning dials, and it should be done. I have a plan to fit a bluetooth receiver module and hook it into one of the tape inputs, but that will have to wait. as I will probably head home in a few weeks.
It’s been about 3 years I’ve been separated from by Beomaster 2000, but I have finally gotten it back on the bench. I had a new tuner board made, and it has now been fit into place, and looks like it will be a goer. Dial cord broke, so I am going to try and get it fit up again tomorrow. That should just about be all that needs doing, though I’d like to do the AM/FM alignment, but my function generator isn’t with me. Photo’s to follow as I get around to it.
