That will be not quite easy.
First you need 2 Scart ports for the video. Or 2 Super VHS ports.
Next: how to control B&O equipment on Samsung hardware? There is no compatible IR command support. The Scart cable transmits this commands from a B&O TV to DVD1 and V8000… but you have no B&O TV or external IR receiver. So you can only use the keyboard, not the IR command.
The Beosystem 5500 can act as an external amplifier, no problem. Connect a DIN audio cable from your Samsung to a Tape oder AUX Input of the 5500. Select the input and it will play the TV sound.
Wider? Nooo…
But the metall plate under the cassette itself is a little different acording to the drive…
I just opened a VX5000 and VX7000 and everything is identical but the cassette holder itself is different according to the drive. The trim/cutout is different.
And yes, there seems to be a problem using a 7000 unit in a 5000…
You are right, there is the protection unit with TR201/202 and TR401/402 against DC voltages on the output…
The BC9500 is similar to the 7000 system… and 5500/6500/7000 amplifier have a problem with the potentiometer of the “no_load_current”.
If it fails, the current is so high, that the emergency cutoff is activated.
Replace the pots, around 100 Ohm… measure the adjustment of the pots, remove them, replace them… start around with the same position of the pots… take FOTO !
The 7000 uses this adjustment… it’s 7000, not 9500. But very similar…
You have the repair manual?
The motor only needs 4 pins.
+9V, -9V, ground and a DC control voltage for the rotation speed.
That’s all … easy to check.
The motor itself is a 4-coil stepper motor.

I use 16V-50V for these caps… the size is no problem, but shouldn’t be bigger than original.
The cap inside the shield is 4,7uF 25V … most actuell are 50V for this size.
Sounds like a crack of a copperline of the board (foam rot?) or defect cap in the power supply or soundpath.

“Clock” is different on the BL7000. There are 3 different software levels around clock. Even the glas plate is different because of this software difference.
Look for a newer Software Eprom for the BC9500.
Since i have no BC9500 i have never collected data for it…

I have repaired some 9500 and some of my BL7000 did work with them, some did not. It depends on the software of the BL7000 … AND of the BC9500.
The BC can be upgraded, the BL7000 does not… SMD chip without socket…
The BC sends IR only from the front and the small sender horizontal IR beams.
The BL7000 has 2 IR receiver units… one horizontal and one vertical.
So… one is dying now on yours, probably the one when standing in the charger and the one looking to the ceiling is still alive…
Soooo, repair the smd caps in the metal box on the front…, dont wait, they are spreading acid over the ir transmitter chip. There is a time limit to repair when the acid is under this chip… then it is beyond repair. There is no way to remove the acid under the chip, it will only become better, but never again like new…

I know exactly why. A running and working VX5000 is a lot of work, around 200 caps to replace … and around 100 further never seen and hidden in a lot of boxes making heat problems…
This are of the replaced caps you can see … and arond 100 more unseen inside a lot of boxes…
Not talking about capstan motors, gearboxes, clutches, loading units, flaps, unused analog tuners, power supplies… 12kg electronics is overkill.
But it can be done. Some are running now for years, cool and reliable…
The left wheel is the clutch. The torque is made with a spring and some tissue pressed together. Fast forward/rewind stops if torque is to low.
Clean it with alcohol, the tissue collects something like silicon from the plastic and becomes lower and lower…
Improvement of the to low torque: use some sanding paper. Not in rotation direction, across rotation. The scratches make torque higher… dont exceed with to rough sanding paper, it can make rattle.
Take photos BEFORE disassembly. There are a lot of parts inside. And springs…
I prefer the VX5500. Less heat and less problems than the VX5000 … and more cooling air and space inside. Modified with a switching power supply and removed tuner and unusable analog sound system unit it stays pretty cool. Much work, but worth the uncounted hours of work. I use it still every day for watching satellite TV.
The VX7000 is technically better, but functionality is a pain… especially the unsolved rewinding problem. It stops without any reason by software, starts again like starving… just a pain. And with BEO4 software just worse…
When i remember right… it’s a defect gearbox.
If you remover the gearbox from the underside… be very very very carefull… it makes PLING and a small plastic ring part will fly away. On the axle of the clutch is a white plastic ring on the top with a crack and it will learn to fly.
The evolution is a brass instead a plastic ring. You have already removed the gear box… still surviving?
Make photo of the clutch.
Connect the center to main. Remove antenna from Beocenter. Remove any extension from BC.
Measure DC and AC voltage between Beocenter to Ground. Measure mains Ground terminal to outer antenna plug casing to ground.
Maybe defect power supply… i found two BC 9500 with 190V from antenna to Ground. That killed the radio unit… 190V IS NO FUN!!!
It is high impedance, it won’t kill you, but you can feel it. But it kills radio electronics…
It’s a small defect cap (10nF …?) in the power supply used for noise suppressor
The circuit for the battery is very odd. There is always a current loading the battery depending on the voltage of the battery. Low voltage = high current.
High current= hot battery.
Hot battery = Spreading acid over the electronis = Dead BL7000
NiCd fails very soon. Sometimes 6 month…
NiMh takes a little bit longer. 1-2 years are usual. But fail is more spectacular… more acid.
NiMh Eneloop cells last for 5-10 years without spreading acid over the Bl7000… but they will also fail. The voltage of these cells is a little bit higher and the are better sealed. They stay cooler…
What do you expect without accu?
The charger will not supply enough current to run the BL7000. Also a defect accu will not supply 6V 300mA minimum. To start the high voltage display (110V !!!) the BL7000 will need a second 500mA, then reducing to 300mA und after Start around 200mA. Every drop below 6V or over 8V will start a emergency cut off or blinking display as a warning.
… and 8V is a very healthy voltage when the BL7000 is made for 6V packs with peak Voltage 7,2V. It will or can limit lifetime to some minutes since some caps have a internal limit of 6,3V in the BL7000…
The bidirectional communication uses 5V and 6,3 V caps. That’s the reason for defects…
This is typical for a defect accu. Check the cells… 1,25-1,45V each, depending type. And all identical. Probably one cell will be lower with a problem.
Eneloop NiMh cells are pretty good for this job. 5 Years lifetime and longer. Some will run for 10 years.
NiCd are a good reason for scrapping the BL7000 in 2 years. They will loose their acid.
If you like pictures like this, use NiCd or standard NiMh…
Touch the metal plate. It must not become warm, even after days or weeks. Otherwise there is a recap necessary… not BL7000, the charger !!! Overload… and a 240V update.
The displays need 5V for the digital part and 7V for the leds… 7V missing?
If you use Penta for Left&Right channel and a TV for the Center, then this setup was pretty good with a MX8000 and the DolbyDigital5.1 System.
In the background are 2 BL8000…
The Pentas are listed in the MX8000 system software, also the BL8000 and the distance to the listener.
There is also an option for a subwoofer.
The Center speaker of the MX8000 (2x 2way system) is good enough for small/middle size rooms. Surprisingly the option “subwoofer” is not a good selection, it is way to much. Just the opposite is the better solution: switch subwoofer to on, but dont use the subwoofer.
The sound is better.
The same will happen if you use the Penta as a center. Way to big.
Or do we talk about a room with 120qm oder bigger?
Have you already tried a Penta in real life as a center?
A Penta is way to big… a simple Redline 40/60/120 will do the job.
The important thing is: the speaker must fit to human voice. Too much bass will destroy the effect… and a standard Penta will not work, you must first remove the bubble wrap foil in it’s sound way.
