Nice! Enjoy it. ?
I can’t join an attachment sorry. It doesn’t seem to work with image files.
But seriously, yes, I can do it.
Sure thing. ?
Hi everyone!
My prize is now with me, after a fairly complicated shipping process, probably because of the Royal Mail cyberattack.
It’s a lovely Beosound 6 with matching headphones and all boxed, with original accessories – yes, even the CD – that are a superb addition to my beocollection.
Thanks Lee ?
Hi Lee,
A tough one. We were all afraid this day would eventually come. Here it is.
I became a Gold Member mainly because I wanted to be part of the B&O community and because I needed the service manuals. I still do!
Then, providing help to other members has been a joy too, although these days, I have too much to do to do so on a regular basis.
Like Evan, B&O and Beoworld are part of what I am now. The now proverbial beovirus we invented here is real. There is no cure.
The Prize Draw has of course always been a welcome bonus, which I was lucky enough to win three times over the years.
I’ll continue to pay my fee, whatever you decide, and two draws a year suits me just fine, if you can cover the expense with what we pay for the subscription.
So thank you Lee and Keith (and Steve).
Jacques aka Chartz since 2009, not going anywhere.
Good. We are waiting for result!
Go ahead. I’d buy it.
Hi, and welcome!
How do you know that it should need a new laser unit? Who told you?
Perhaps the laser is fine and it just needs a re-cap of the servo board.
Hi,
Just saying but a Variac or a bulb don’t make much sense if you know what you’re doing. I’ve never used one in my 40 years of electronics.
Good luck with the repair.
Hi Roger,
It does get hot but not burning hot. Are you sure it runs smoothly (lubrication) and that you have the correct speed right away? Did you have to increase pitch adjustment to its end stop? Do you have the original belt?
Good, thanks for the update. How much?
Enjoy that one Craig, I know you will!

December 25, 2022 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Beogram CDX, CDX2, CD3300 left hinge reproduction part now avaiable #13101Oh, nothing of the sort – this was sort of an ironical post because we’ve all known the good man behind this project for a very, very long time, that’s all!
Advertising for Beoparts is fine ☺️
December 25, 2022 at 5:21 pm in reply to: Beogram CDX, CDX2, CD3300 left hinge reproduction part now avaiable #13099Thanks but I think everyone here has known this (superb) shop for quite some time, and even before it even came into existence ☺️
Merry Christmas everyone – Chartz – how do the Quads compare with the MC120-2s? I would love a pair of ESL57s to go with Quad33/303 combo (Beogram 1203 for vinyl and playmaker for streaming)
The ESL57 sound lovely, very 3D. The Beovoxes are not ashamed next to them, they also make beautiful sounds, albeit with more bass but they are less subtle of course. I also often use the 33/303/FM3 combo.
I am also a huge Quad fan.Hi and happy Xmas!
All my B&O is vintage.
I use Beolab 6000s with the TV. Perfect.
My dance practice and everyday casual music listening speakers are M70, excellent speakers, fed by a Beomaster 4400 receiver and Beogram 4000 turntable.
The 1967 Beolab system has the correct Beovox 5000s and Cubes, plus central Beovox 4000.
The Beomaster 8000 feeds a pair of MC120-2, with S45-2 as rear speakers.
And then, the A9 in the music practice room (drums and bass). Its sheer power capabilities is ideal.
I also use non-B&O speakers, Quad ESL and Cabasse Galion 4.
Happy Christmas Steve and everyone here!
Don’t worry, the 4400 has it with 0 mV offset. Not a problem really. I’ve been hearing that thump every single day for 10 years now, ever since I restored it!
My 1967 Beolab 5000 has it too.
As an aside, the 4400 sounds extremely good, probably my best B&O receiver.
