apart from one (quite annoying) change! – I now MUST start radio from the app.
did you change your BLC settings (“IR Mapping”) accordantly?
depending on your needs you got two options.
- remove the Ouverture and go back to the first discussed setup (BLC A.Master) or
- buy a PL to AUX cabel and connect the Essence to the AUX of the Ouverture
BV7 is set to V.OPTION = 2 (confirmed by the flashing standby led). Ouverture is set to A.OPTION = 0 (as shown in the BV7-55 manual). BLC is set to ML rôle: source center. In “Sources visible on ML” configuration page, only N.RADIO and N.MUSIC are available. N.RADIO is configured for Essence LineIn (sound from my PC) and N.MUSIC for Essence TuneIn. Feedback:
- A.MEM commands the Ouverture’s tape.
- N.RADIO: Ouverture’s phono
- N.MUSIC: Ouverture’s tape 2
- On Essence (through mobile application), DTV source selected: no sound.
did you check the N.Music, N.Radio boxes on the BLC “experienced mapped to NL” page? And did you set both accordantly on the “IR Mapping” page?
addition:
try the setting proposed, but on second thoughts I wouldn’t be surprised you will have introduced another conflict. Giving the N.Music command to the BV7, ML will instruct the Ouverture to start A.Tape2, whereas the BLC is instructed to start the Essences TuneIn.BV7 should be in option 2. Place it in stby; then press List / Stby on your Beo4; press list until you see V(ideo) Option in the display; then press 2. Notify if the BV7 has responded with a short off/on of the stby light.
adding the Ouverture changed the ball game completely. Now if you give a A.MEM (=A.Tape) command which should start? The BLC with TuneIn or the A.Tape of the Ouverture.
and the ML chain does already has a A.Master and a V.Master so the BLC cannot be set to A.Master anymore! So the only option in your setup left is Source Center. So program the BLC (set f.e. N.Music as TuneIn of your Essence)but in truth I prefer WiSA because always on, rather than me looking each time I change listening position to see if the green light appears.
Always on can also wired be established, just a setup thing!
a. what is the option set for the BV7? option 2?
b. there is no other Radio source (set) in ML and/or NL?
c. The BS5 is disconnected from the system?
d. does TuneIn already play on the Essence when you start Radio
try, set the “connect to (primary)” to “Beolink Converter NL/ML”, but the more probable cause: did you set the “IR mapping”?
November 10, 2022 at 6:51 pm in reply to: Are older speakers more pleasant to hear than modern speakers (Beolab)? #11049There is no need to discuss difference in preferences as it is individual. When it comes to exactness I believe the issue of sound separation becomes an issue, especially with music with many layers of tones (such as orchestral). It then becomes obvious that woofer’s quickness and their numbers play a central role. The more woofers you have (assuming that they are nicely separated using high quality cross-overs), the better different tones can be separated. That is probably why many people love their Pentas. It is also a fact that newer B&O speakers tend to have more woofers. So maybe the newer Beolabs can reproduce the sounds better.
In princple it is ALL individual preferences and individual preferences only.
Just for the simple reason, you were not present during recording, mixing and mastering of the recording, let alone for the reason that you not know what the artist intended.
What you hear is your interpretation of the artist intentions, you like it or you don’t.
That said the speakers are part of this.Note that some music you’ll experience sound even better on cheaper speakers or older or newer or expensive speakers.
advice:
In “Experience mapped to NL” one can rename the available sources. Especial if you have more BLC’s with different sources this can be helpful to identify f.e. one CD player from the other,
I renamed the sources connected to my BS9000 BLC as cd9000, radio9000 and aux9000, the sources connected to my BS7000 BLC as Beogram 6000, cd7000, tape7000…………..etc.
the only source that worked came from the Beosystem 4 – but I di get NETRADIO coming through the speaker.
this depends on the sources set on the BLC (“Experience mapped to NL”) and the “Connected to (primary)” set in the BLC
I’m at a loss to understand why as surely the BLP should activate if it senses a signal on the PL.
did you use a fully wired PL cable?
Yes, as above. There are more ML devices connected (too many to list!) no speakers are connected to either BLC ML/NLs. I’ve used the first BLC-ML/NL as a bridge between the two networks – and its working fine/.
I would make the next setup:
a. Disconnect the ML between the BLC and the BL Passive
b. Connect both with PL
c. Set this BLC as V.Master
d. Set for this BLC “Networklink”, “Connect to (primary)”: the other BLC
e. Be sure all the sources of the other BLC are set in “Experiece mapped to NL”
f. advice: add an IR-eye to the BLC (with the BL passive connected; IR-eye with the “JOIN” button)to listen to your A.Master on the BLC with the BL Passive.
1. open B&o app
2. tap the BLC (with the BL Passive)
3. tap the black bar below with the name of this BLC
4. tap the three dots
5. select the/ a source of the A.MasterTo test this setup, I have connected BL8000 to a BLC. Another BLC is ML connected to a BS3000. The sources CD, Radio and Aux are made available to NL. The BS3000 BLC is set “Connect to (primary)”.
As described I started the BS3000 CD to the other BLC.addition: to be able to set the volumes of the BLC, go to “Settings”, “Beolink” and set the “BLC Network Link volume” in the App
Here are my answers: Question 1: which of the following is your setup a. BL Passive ML connected to BLC – NL devices – another BLC ML connected to your A.Master, or b. A.Master ML connected to BL Passive ML connected to BLC – NL devices? >>config A is the setup Question 2: which NL devices are connected? >> I have a Beosystem 4, the other NL/ML converter, a Beovision 11 Question 3: you want to move the BLC/BL Passive, does this room have a NL device? >> no, it’s a bathroom, so no other device is in the room.
So, I’m correct to state the system is like this:
BL Passive ML connected to a BLC – NL connected to a Beosystem 4, BV11 and another BLC with an A.Master ML connected. Right?
Are there more ML devices connected to the A.Master? or speakers connected?I’m trying to connect a BLC to a NK/ML mixed network. to do this, I’ve connected a Beolink Passive (with speakers attached) to a BeoLink Converter NL/ML via Masterlink , the Beolink Converter NL/ML is in turn is connected to the NL network. I already have an audio master in the ML network. Connecting the Beolink passive to the ML network works fine – but as I want to move this to a different location, I have the converter in-between I’m at a loss how to configure the Beolink Converter NL/ML – A.Master shouldn’t work as I already have one, but A.Slave doesn’t allow me to select any sources on the NL (or ML) network with the Beolink Passive/
Question 1: which of the following is your setup
a. BL Passive ML connected to BLC – NL devices – another BLC ML connected to your A.Master, or
b. A.Master ML connected to BL Passive ML connected to BLC – NL devices?Question 2: which NL devices are connected?
Question 3: you want to move the BLC/BL Passive, does this room have a NL device?
Regarding the Bang & Olufsen support (I asked for support), audio streaming of the TV program from the Beovision Harmony to Beosounds does not work! In reality, it works but unfortunately with a time lag = echo.
True, if you playing something on the LG, f.e. the Music app of LG and link to other B&0 devices.
But NOT true if you stream directly, f.e. DLNA sources or TuneIN, to the B&o Harmony using the B&o app. Then the sound will be in sync. (if the time delay on al devices are the same, as supposed).who dared? My Edge is stable and no complaints, so a little hesitant…. Software 2.1.50871 – Release date 26th October 2022 Enhancements: – Improvements to network stability – AirPlay 2 improvements – Spotify Connect improvements – General bug fixes
my BS Shape has this version…… until now no issues.
note: the A6 and BS35 have the (beta) version since some time 2.1.50399 installed. Both work as supposed. The BS35 has a strange phenomenon: the display keeps displaying “visible as…” after a disconnection from the mains. This is solved by doing a factory reset and reinstall the settings.
addition: the M3 has v2.1.50872
What is the best way to connect the A6 with a hard line to AppleTV and SONY Bravia OLED? The WIFI connection constantly disconnects. Any work arounds?
if you want the sound of the Sony on the A6, I would say the best solution would be SPDIF/Toslink. Note: to eliminate the delay you have to change the setting of the A6.
question: how were the A6, the AppleTV and the Sony wifi connected together?
October 31, 2022 at 10:09 am in reply to: Beolab 28s – Experience with Powerlink connections (Not good!) #10455Hello all … sharing my experience with the Beolab 28 and a PowerLink connection. A few things to establish first Beolab 28 can’t be daisy chained for Powerlink connection. You will need to connect each speaker directly to your Powerlink device. Most devices have only 1 Powerlink connection so you will need to use the Powerlink splitter adapter to get 2 connections from 1. My installation I am connecting a LG C2 TV to the BL28s. And using the Hall audio Wireless HIFI Manufacturer – “https://hallaudio.com/en/”. It lets you connect the TV via ARC/HDMI and let us connect to BL28s via Powerlink. It will auto switch to HDMI and let us control BL28s directly using your TV remote. Most TV connections using optical or even 3.5 audio jack (!) will create video-audio lag and you will need to switch source manually using the B&O app. However … When you connect via Powerlink and enable Powerlink in the B&O app you are no longer able to control your Sound profile or even use the equalizer. THEY ARE ALL DISABLED. You cant override Powerlink source i.e. once Powerlink is enabled you cant play any sound apps via the B&O app. Powerlink connection more or less dumbs down the app and the BL28s and just makes the BL28s external speakers to your Powerlink Source. Again not a well thought out implementation from B&O. Yes. Most B&O sources have their Bass and Treble controls but the use of Beosonic Sound profile is one of the main selling points of the BL28s and this is disabled using Powerlink. Would be interested in other people’s experiences with using Powerlink connections with Beolab 28s. There has to be a better way. And or connecting non B&O TVs to the Beolab 28s.
Did you read the Beolab 28 user guide?
There you could read/see that the BL28 has one PL connection.
There it is noted that if PL connection is used, the BL28 become plain speakers to the tv.
There is explained all the setting are then controlled by the tv.Yes, I have Wireless PL connected the speakers to my Beovision Harmony and both are LAN connected (the main speaker to a switch the other to the main speaker).
Yes, I can use all the features of the BL28.But if the Harmony is switched on the Harmony is in charge! So everything is then controlled by the tv………..and so should it be.
All in all clever solutions by B&o
October 31, 2022 at 7:07 am in reply to: Wanted! Guide for setting up and controlling Light with the Beoremote One/BT. #10448I wonder what the differences are – and if these differences will be important to me.
some differences
BLI: no support of ML (directly; indirectly with the use of a MLGW of BLGW)
BLI pro: extended Halo support
BLI pro: extended programmable (LUA)
BLI support grouping of Netlink and/or Beocontrollink devices (one is the main, the other follow)
October 30, 2022 at 11:44 am in reply to: Wanted! Guide for setting up and controlling Light with the Beoremote One/BT. #10416Edit! Do I understand it correct…..if I use the Beolink Gateway, I could avoid using the second NL/ML Converter, that I am just about to install. Or do I need the (second) converter as well? I have ML products/Master and CD, that I want to be able to use along with my NL devices. MM
You will need both, the BLC (Beolink NL/ML converter) and the Beolink Gateway (despite the hardware is the same).
