      Talking about battery life, with my former eclipse the batteries would last about 5-6 months

       

      With the theatre premuim batteries seem to last between 4 and 8 weeks!!

        I had the Beolab 9 which I enjoyed, changed them for the 20 which was a terrible mistake ( where is the mid range)

        Lab 28 loved the warm sound, they do most of what i would require out of any speaker.

        really love them

            Another thing I cant seem to do is to select wide or narrow mode on beolab 28 via the BR1

            Can anyone do this?

              very impressed with my Theatre so far, voice clarity is exceptional ; far away fro the eclipse.

              One issue I have;

              On the app one can choose to add a source to beoremote, when i do this they dont all appear? Is that my error?

                My UB820 works perfectly with Theatre using the PUC codes for Panasonic DPUB9000

                  I completely agree with Mr 10% if you have the eclipse mk1 , when the panel packs up its scrap.

                  I purchased the MK2 as my now defunct dealer told me it was ‘futureproofed’ as the LG panel is seperate, within two months the G2 panel arrived and it wont fit! so the only hope one has for the MK2 is to source a S/H G1.

                  The Theatre solves the problem; in a way B&O will have to keep this updated as its existence is to offer a solution to all brands.

                  The sound is better than the eclipse by far, for these reasons alone I am pleased with it.

                    My Theatre arrived today following a problematic eclipse that B&O was good enough to resolve.

                    First problem is that the visa mount for the 55 does not fit the LG G1 maybe LG changed the locating screws for the G2?? panel; its to short, missing the top location studs, so the guys fabricated a metal insert to allow the top screws to locate.

                    Setting up was seamless enough but when doing so to change the stand position it asks to re- calibrate via the mic all over again and wont allow anything else?

                    The app is not that intuitive but i suppose i will get used too it

                    The motorised stand now has one operating plane; not two as in the eclipse, this means the tv stays away from the wall by quite some distance, meaning its eal life movement is not that much.

                    I exchanged for this product as i did not want to get caught with another out of date beovision after only 6 months.

                    Sound wise, its very good; although im really not getting the ‘surround experience’ in appropriate films at all.

                    Matched with Lab 28 the soundstage opens up; i would not be happy with just the theatre for that reason alone as for B&O suggesting a sound ‘triangle’ with lab 28 at the rear; it would not work for me,one is to aware of the sound being ‘in front’ and the app is quirky and keeps stating its ‘offline’

                      As with all things I suppose it depends if one is buying or selling

                      Clearly the harmony needs to be upgraded; comments on beotalk suggest the theatre is far more capable lets see

                          Thank you for your kind response.

                          I purchased the Eclipse only 5 months ago from Bang and Olufsen in Cambridge.

                          When purchasing it i was informed the MK2 had been developed to accept future LG panels for some considerable time- in fact four months later the MK 3 comes out, so clearly that was not correct

                          I contacted the CEO but never had a response!!

                          Since day one the eclipse would show a message indicated in the enclosed picture that HDMI2 had disconnected and almost immediately another banner stating it had reconnected ; unfortunately upon doing so one looses all sound and loss of control from remote and the app states the TV is offline.

                          The only way is to continue to remove the mains supply repeatedly until it operates again; increasingly now though all one gets is no picture or sound and a green flashing light on the front stand LED and a white flashing light at the back of the sound centre.

                          Most of the individuals i know who bought B&O in the past have deserted the brand; I however have stayed loyal to it but these issues are something i have never encountered in other products. I sold the Avant for this after having had three video boards replaced each time taking weeks and weeks to fix.

                            With the two replacement boards that I had from B&O , I examined them against the original and could find no addiitonal heat sinking.

                             

                            I subsequently ran the avant with rear covers removed and each failed after about 15 months.

                            My conclusion is that the boards are ‘fixed’ by B&O but many other components are not replaced , as a result they fail repeatededly

                             

                            The worse is the huge delay in time to get a replacement board programmed up, in both cases it took over 6 weeks— Never again.

                            You can almost get a basic LG for the cost of the repair and enjoy reliability and a huge picture improvement.

                              The Avant is a lovely TV.

                              The video board went three times in mine, roughly 1000 to fix it and very long delays as the board has to be programmed to the individual TV

                              as a result of this I would never buy one

                                It Appears B&O dropped the price of the boards significantly last year.

                                My experience is thus, the first board went after 4 years, cost 1200, the second went 14 months after that cost 700.

                                When it went again i got rid of it.

                                The problem seems to be that no attention has been paid as to how to rectify the problem, and now just the critical board components are being changed to bring it back to life.

                                The engineer told me that some parts had been updated but closer inspection seemed to be the same. I even ran the TV with the covers off, but reality is it make no difference- just feel the heatsink!

                                My experience is that replacement boards dont last
