      Hi

YESSSSS, just received the new lens assembly, fitted it in my beosound 1, and it immediately came back to life.

Thank you all for your help. After the remote, the cd player is back

      Bye

        Hi

I have exactly the same issue on a Beosound 1. It seems to be the same optical unit (VAU1255)

Cleaning the lens and the mirror made the situation even worse (shouldn’t have used Isopropyl Alcohol ?)

Found an optical unit at a reasonnable price on Amazon, should receive it next week

If you want the link I can send it to you in MP

          Hi,

Found one today at a special price on Amazon. 38 €. I should receive it by the beginning of february. I’ll keep you informed.

After further reading, it appears that isoprolyl alcohol was maybe not a good idea on a plastic lens…

              Hi,

The last time you gave me ad advice, a miracle occured.

              Unfortunately no miracle this time.

I did all the checks successfully except start CD that did the same thing. Before the door opens, I hear a little “Tac” as if the lens was touching the disc.

Tried to gently heat the CD mechanism with a hair dryer (maybe some isopropyl alcohol remaining) but nothing better.

Hi Guy, thank you for your fast answer.

I had just loosened a little bit the screw near the power button, but maybe not enough. I also hadn’t dared to remove the clip.

I did all this as you said today and for the moment everything seems to be working perfectly. I’ll wait a little bit to be sure that everything is in order and i’ll note the thread as solved. Thank you very much once more and happy new year from France 🙂
