This thread gives an short overview about the speakers and the gears that real B&O lovers use. I think this is very interesting, because the famous B&O experts have tested so many B&O stuff and know everything about it.

      1. Tim uses a Beosystem 5500 and Redline 140 speakers.
      2. Peter had Beovox m150
      3. Steve (Mr Cabel) uses Beolab Pentas.

            I have:

            • BeoLab 4000 – 2x
            • BeoLab 6000 – 4x
            • BeoLab 8000 – 6x
            • BeoVox 600 -2x
            • BeoVox 1200 – 2x
            • Grundig AudioRama 7000 – 2x

They are positioned throughout my house, so I use all of them.

My daughter will get the BeoVox 1200 set.
I also used to have a pair of S80 with a damaged coil on the mid tone driver. But after repair and restoration I gave them to my son.
            (B&O throughout the family!)

Beosound Edge is my absolute number 1, both looks and sound, brass tone that is.
Unfortunately nobody understands the Edge but please forget the marketed wallclock and listening room divider nonsense asap and just place it like you would have placed an A9 and guess what…..it will have the A9 for breakfast…..:)

Beolab 17 , also brass. Superb stereo setup and very rich full sound for it’s size. Connected to a Core and Transmitter 1 and was pleasantly surprised how rock solid this WISA setup works. Probably helps that other companies with better software people interfered with the WISA development. If this was a pure B&O development no way it could have been so stable….
Anyway, really pleasing the 17’s. In doubt now for adding a BL19 for the fun of it.

BV11 with BL4000 as rears, relative simple and cheap but wonderful home cinema setup, debating for adding BL11…

Multiple Beoplay A8’s in smaller rooms, absolute ridiculous value for money in neo vintage B&O land. I will make a dedicated post with some interesting facts on them sometime.

Level Stereopair (gold oak). Love the looks, build quality is superb. Sound gorgeous, mozart is nice but I can’t get over the lacking base department compared to my other speakers, probably will sell them soon.

I love my Beolab 9s. They have such a deep, rich bass and are great for both music and movies. Of course, 90s are the coveted speakers, but there is quite a huge jump in cost to get to the 50s or 90s. Steve at Sounds Heavenly did a great video about the Beolab 9s where he applauded them as great speakers at a reasonably affordable price.

The BL3s are surprisingly good performers when you add a subwoofer to them. Just please don’t place them upside-down as they’re shown in the comedy show “Modern Family.”

                    Hi,

Main loudspeakers are Beolab 5 completed by Beolab 8000 for surround.

Beolab 6000 in the main bedroom, 2500 in the study and Beovox 4500 (thanks Botty) in a secondary bedroom.

And Beolab 3500 in the kitchen.

                    Yann.

I use Beovox M100-2 every day as my main speakers in my main home with C30s in my study. In the other place, I use S45-2 in one room and P40s in another with MCX35 in my garage/workshop.

I’ve tried so many speakers over the past 30 years I started with Beovox 5700 which were my first B&O speakers, then RL60.2, then brand new BL8000 (which to start with I was disappointed with but grew to like), Beolab 1 followed, then BL8000 again, followed by BL4000 – the most disappointing but in retrospect, they were far too small for the size of the room – I lived in a flat and bought them as I had complaints from the upstairs neighbour about my music. Once she moved (!) I bought Beolab Penta’s MKII and they were fantastic – a friend of mine still has them and I wonder sometimes if I should have kept them. The Penta’s were followed by the M100-2 – I switched to these as I wanted to try different amplifiers and experiment a bit more – I got the hifi bug. These are the best speakers I’ve owned but really they should be in a larger room. I doubt I would ever sell them as I love them and will no doubt move them to a larger room at some point, plus since taking early retirement I can’t afford to replace them!

In terms of design BL8000 remain my absolute favourite, hmmm, no doubt when aesthetics prevails I will look again at getting another pair!

Sold my end game speakers ATC scm40’s once I setup a newly acquired pair of absolutely mint condition M75’s .

I also have a near mint condition pair of c75’s in Black which I may use in the office.

I use a pair of S 75 in the Living Room, with a Beocenter 8500, and in another Room a pair of S 55 with a Beomaster 1100.

                          Best regards

                            Hi and happy Xmas!

                            All my B&O is vintage.

I use Beolab 6000s with the TV. Perfect.

My dance practice and everyday casual music listening speakers are M70, excellent speakers, fed by a Beomaster 4400 receiver and Beogram 4000 turntable.

The 1967 Beolab system has the correct Beovox 5000s and Cubes, plus central Beovox 4000.

The Beomaster 8000 feeds a pair of MC120-2, with S45-2 as rear speakers.

And then, the A9 in the music practice room (drums and bass). Its sheer power capabilities is ideal.

I also use non-B&O speakers, Quad ESL and Cabasse Galion 4.

Merry Christmas everyone – Chartz – how do the Quads compare with the MC120-2s? I would love a pair of ESL57s to go with Quad33/303 combo (Beogram 1203 for vinyl and playmaker for streaming)

                                Happy Christmas Beofans!

as Stereomensch said, I use Penta 3s in my workshop, along with Beolab 3000 as rear speakers. In my bedroom I have a pair of Emerges, which are linked to the Beosystem 3500 in my living room.

The living room speakers are currently non-B&O, thy are heavily modified Dali Oberon 5 linked to the 3500 system, while I decide which Beolab or Beovox speakers should replace them…

                                Kind regards Steve

Opinions on the M100’s currently on the devilbay please? Price is too high isn’t it at £895 ?

Would they be a big leap up from my M75’s which knocked my Atc’s off top spot .

                                    One of my ‘speaker/listening options’….
The BS8 is nowadays just the speaker for an Essence MK2.

Here joined in to what plays in the livingroom.

I paid £600 for my M100-2s but I then had to have one of the filler drivers repaired and I recapped them – I’ve had more listening pleasure from them than other B&O speakers I’ve owned – but I probably did pay too much, however, I had to have them and something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay

I agree in that something is only worth what you’re willing to pay to have the pleasure of it , £900 is a bit much I think though , plus mine have the gorgeous rosewood finish whereas the ones for sale don’t.

Yes, mine have the same finish as the ones for sale – I was slightly disappointed as I was hoping for the full-on rosewood finish. not sure if they are all like that – also I wonder if the step up from M75 to M100 would be that great? – I think some of it will depend on the size of your listening room, how loud you can play them and what you are using to drive them. Mine sound awesome when they are on loud and fill the house with my music but most of the time they are on fairly low in my music room which isn’t that big and I am sat very close to them. Another thing, I noticed that the seller said they are easy to drive – I have to say from experience they are not that easy to drive to make them sound their best, I tend to experiment with different amps and configurations – but those are just my thoughts – ideally you would get a chance to listen to them first. I don’t know if others have compared M75 with M100’s?
