My tape deck runs fine, I just put new belts on but there is little to no sound coming out. I have to turn it right up to hear it, I was thinking it’s the heads? any advice greatly appreciated April 9, 2023 at 10:36 am #18788 Die_BogenerBRONZE Member Topics Started 2Total Posts 240 Heads defect? 99%= NO Caps defect, quite normal. Electrolyth and tantalum caps fail after this long time, that’s quite normal. April 9, 2023 at 2:36 pm #18798 DillenModerator Topics Started 3Total Posts 587 Bad tantals around the Dolby IC. Only Bogen heads on open reel Beocords and Uhers pose problems. Do check capacitors around the Dolby circuit.
