Rumoured/speculated for some time as Stage 2.0, maybe the Beosound Theatre is that new product?
June 6, 2022 at 9:00 am #5692It looks like in the test report that it have channels out.
So I think this is the soundbar with connection to other speakers that people have been waiting for.
June 6, 2022 at 9:42 am #5696However, the big question is…..how are these ‘channels out’ realized?
PL, WPL (WiSA), Mozart-linked or?

June 6, 2022 at 4:06 pm #5702If we go to the FCC website:
https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/TTUBSTHEATRE
there is a drawing of the soundbar:
but it is very difficult to see if there are any connections.
June 6, 2022 at 5:39 pm #5704But the light grey bars in the centre have low-res writing and suggests possibly LAN connections and PL (x2)???
June 6, 2022 at 6:19 pm #5706In any case this could be a real interesting product. Specially if it is on the Mozart platform. Can’t wait!
June 7, 2022 at 5:43 pm #5741Is this a replacement for the eclipse series perhaps?
June 7, 2022 at 7:09 pm #5747Is this a replacement for the eclipse series perhaps?
No, it’s a standalone soundbar which should connect to other B&O speakers.
June 7, 2022 at 9:18 pm #5750Another interesting aspect…
…..will this device have Atmos capabilities (or not)?

June 8, 2022 at 10:22 am #5758I would suspect that yes, over time this will lead to the Eclipse being withdrawn.
Just my guess though.
If this product can work with other brands, i.e not just LG, well enough, and does well commercially I can see (over time) Beovisions being withdrawn completely.
But that may not be a bad thing anyway, especially if the Theatre speaker / system offers you most of everything a BV does anyway.
Again, just thinking out loud.
June 8, 2022 at 10:41 am #5759I see your point, but as a owner of Beovision Harmony I hope they will continue making Beovisions.
There is to many things I would miss with just a soundbar.
But it is a very nice additional to a good range, and will drive up the speaker sales imo.
June 8, 2022 at 11:06 am #5760Agreed, B&O wrapping a tv and sound centre is still a much better visual offering than the rest of the industry, especially when motorised stands / brackets are used. So I hope they continue.
But they make no money from TV’s, and if the Theatre centre / system is successful, I can see them thinning out their BV offering to either nothing, or a (extremely expensive) flagship from time to time.
June 8, 2022 at 1:13 pm #5761True they did not earn money on Beovision. But I think that have changed since they dont make the TV part anymore. All that reasearch money are saved now.
I cant imagine that B&O would have been able to do a very good job with all the new standards. A brilliant move to use LG.
June 8, 2022 at 2:16 pm #5763I can not imagine this ‘soundbar’ working different than the BS Stage, the BV Eclipse/Harmony, when it comes to integration with a tv.
You’ll need the compatible LG tv for this and the B&O remote controlling.
However, it might work with other brands as well….just like the Stage. We’ll see, when officially presented/launched…..we still know fat too little.

June 8, 2022 at 2:40 pm #5764Agreed, the LG partnership was wise, although is suspect they had few options – either exit TV business entirely or use LG’s in a hybrid sort-of, sort-of-not BV approach.
Anyway, we’ll know more in a few months I guess.
June 8, 2022 at 3:54 pm #5765As long as I can control ‘the unit’ with a Beoremote and it can be linked soundwise to my setup in the house, I shall be happy ?

June 9, 2022 at 9:51 am #5770Can’t wait to find out more about this. Have been waiting for a proper new product which is not a silly Bluetooth speaker or headphones! I wonder how different it will look compared to the Stage?
June 9, 2022 at 12:00 pm #5773I wouldn’t be surprised if it has the exact same look as the Stage!
Anyway… we’ll find out after the summer.
The FCC doc state a 180d grace periode.June 9, 2022 at 10:00 pm #5778My guess is at the IFA in Berlin, which is in the beginning of September this year.

July 26, 2022 at 2:03 pm #7046Ok, B&O did leak the new Theatre themselves before official lounge (again B&O, why?). You can find an image of the upcoming soundbar by hitting ‘beosound theatre event’ in google search. No specs though…
For those who can’t wait: image link
I think the design is a matter of personal taste… can’t wait to see it in person
