I purchased a few 7 pin female to male RCA adapters to test a Beogram 5005 turntable that I acquired.
So I plugged in the 5005 male connector into the female adapter and then the male RCA into my phono stage input on my (confirmed working) amplifier.
But I get NO MUSIC …just a hum that is consistent with the volume.
Because I ordered a few of the adapters I figured I would try another…same problem.
Does anyone know what could be wrong here ?
The 7 pin connectors only connect one way and I have confirmed that I have it hook up correctly.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated
Thank you
May 27, 2022 at 1:58 pm #5343Hi Cavscout,
How sure are you that the leads in your cable(s) are connected to the right pins?
Do you have a scheme of the connections, and where did you buy them? (Did you contact Steven from SoundsHeavely?)May 27, 2022 at 3:34 pm #5347Hi kolfMAKER
I am not at all sure if they are connected to the right pins as the connector only fits one way.
Here is what I bought.

The cable could be wired for the signal to go in the opposite direction. Have a look at the diagrams here – schematics 7 and 8 may explain the problem (albeit you need to imagine a female DIN): http://www.hifi4all.dk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=32157&PN=1
EDIT: The cable that you have bought is for an input into a DIN-equipped B&O amplifier – hence wrong direction. You need one like this: https://soundsheavenly.com/beogram-record-players/14-2244-beogram-to-non-bo-device-phono-pre-amp-receiver-amplifier-etc.html#/2-length-1m/60-grounding-internal_ground_link
May 27, 2022 at 7:24 pm #5354Thanks but that was a video.
Where is the price for the cable and for shipping ?
Do you have that link ?
Thank you
May 27, 2022 at 7:47 pm #5355Hi Cavscout,
Thanks for your enquiry. If your amplifier has a built in phono pre-amp, then you just need this cable to connect it to the phono input of the amplifier:-
If the amplifier doesn’t have a pre-amp, you will need this pre-amp kit instead, which comes with all cables needed and full instructions, ready to “plug and play”:-
https://soundsheavenly.com/beogram-record-players/12-2196-pre-amp-bundle-for-bo-beogram-and-all-turntables.html#/36-output-5_pin_din_aux/41-power_supply-uk – please choose the “Twin RCA plugs” output option for your amplifier.
If you are unsure about whether the amplifier has a built-in pre-amp, please email me the full model number and I will be pleased to confirm this.
Kind regards, Steve from Sounds Heavenly.
