I find the batteries in the BR1 variable – even with market-leading brands over those cheap ones that always ship with OEM products.

      I’ve seen BR1 last 4-6 weeks and sometimes over 6 months ++.

I think the Bluetooth side of it (with 2-way control) eats a lot of power inherently.

On the “will DTS be added?” question, my previous soundbar (Sony HT-ST5000) it shipped with only Dolby Atmos capability but a software update after a few months enabled DTS support. Not saying the same will occur with the Theatre but it appears possible as software rather than a hardware addition.

Last night I noticed that the name (which you can assign yourself) of the Theatre had been changed to something random.
I couldnā€™t change it back via the app. It prompted me to do so via Apple Home app which I couldnā€™t figure out either.
then I unplugged the Theatre and restarted it and then I could easily change the name back via the B&O app.
The arbitrary name was a combo of the name of a Bluetooth speaker I have and some random numbers. How can this happen and have you experienced anything similar?

The name of your theatre would have been something like BS Theatre – 00serial no00 >

As you can say, you can change/rename. However, i have not notice this before on my Unit

What I have noticed that if you rename the TV list or Radio List in the remote setting too often, it will reset to say HDMI A and cant be changed. Only a Hard Factory Reset can then change it.

I suspect its something about the BeoApp and the Theatre 2-way control which hangs up. I have raised these points with Beocare…..and maybe one day they get around to fixing it?

It happened again yesterday but it turned out the kids had been playing with the Apple Home app and assigned new names. All is well.

Talking about battery life, with my former eclipse the batteries would last about 5-6 months

With the theatre premuim batteries seem to last between 4 and 8 weeks!!

Is it the same remote you are using or have you purchased a new one for the Beosound Theatre?

I think what has happened (I changed batteries on an old BR1 two days ago – 14weeks from commissioning the Theatre) is that there was a software request that the BR1 was slow to respond (wakeup) with the Theatre after a period of inactivity.

The Theatre is what I would call two-way Control (not Comms) and heavily BeoApp dependant. I think to speed-up remote response, the BR1 has been “opened-up” channel-wise to be responsive for longer (A bit like 30min sleep on a PC). This will go through battery PDQ.

I suppose the solution to this would be for a) B&O to get the BR1 and make rechargeable with a USB-C dock (an add back-light while they are doing it) or b) get the Halo sorted out as a viable remote option.

Love the idea of a docking station and adding a back light, I don’t know how many times I’ve looked for my glasses, to try and find pause etc. šŸ™‚

I would be careful., rechareables tend to have a slightly larger diameter and they get stuck solid in the casing ( as me how i know- one written off casing to prove it) and Finally, the Paleblues rate at 1560mAh much less than normal to accomodate the usb socket and he true voltage of those Paleblue cells is 3.7V (4.2v off the charger), but an additional circuit bucks it down to 1.5v. Which is one more part that can break or go wrong. Pale blue a kickstarter company not many great reviews when comparing them to rechareables at half the price

B&O state not to use them, im not sure why, i did try some lithium aaa and they played havoc with the unit, making the display flash and unresponsive

Someone asked in another/a subthread this:
ā€œWould like to understand more how home integration is a part of Theatre. Sound great. Could you share some more details on how that is achieved?ā€.

Any Theatre user who has experience with this or any comments there?
Would be interesting to have these in this main Theatre thread.

I dont know. But I have always assumed that the Theatre has zero integration outside of the usual loudspeaker/remote and (almost) headphones.

The BR1 has the placeholders it seems to do more integration but there appears to be very little if any in the BeoApp? I was always under the impression that Khino (Ā£750) and the Pro licence (programming – Ā£650) were what you had to do (BL Gateway now EoL?) to enable other non-B&O home automation.

The Theatre has I am told the latest wheeze – “Matter”, but just like Atmos, it doesn’t seem to support any specific B&O equipment to really build a system with?

someone on Discord who has a HomeAssistant setup at home, with something acting as a HA hub, has found some of his integrations / control appearing on his Theatre BR1 – I think his BR1 can control some of his Hue lights etc.

And I dont believe he has has a BLI as part of his setup.

The LG TV actually has its own impressive integrated control of devices in your home. Its “home dashboard” can give you control of Hue lights, Ikea lights, washer, dryer, etc. It would seem conceivable that the Beoremote One could at the very least bring up the home dashboard screen.
