Released yesterday! Gonna dust of my Halo again and hopefully more stable now. Was using bulletproof Essence remotes the last weeks because I got rather tired of the instable Halo wifi connection.
release notes from B&O support site:
Software 1.5.930 – Release date 19th April 2022
Features:
– Adds support for Beolab 90 and Beolab 50. You can now control your speakers using Beoremote Halo.
– Source list is now split up into Audio and Video sources.
– Increased stabilityApril 20, 2022 at 9:06 am #4336Thanks!
Would be nice to see the Halo in action with the 90/50’s – to see which benefits that would bringin real life.

April 20, 2022 at 9:31 am #4337I think it’s a phased rollout, mine doesn’t fetch the new firmware yet…
April 20, 2022 at 10:41 am #4343Interesting.
When using my BL90s in “Audio” mode i.e. attached via XLR to my Auralic system (i.e. not controlled by a Beovision), I use the “BeoEye” IR receiver and an Essence Remote in IR mode. It works but is a little clunky and insensitive to volume control.
It will be interesting to see what the functionality of the Halo will be – whether it just uses IR or is true WiFi/BT control? Perhaps the more important aspect is the control of the BL90 being threshold triggered on/off by the Halo to enable instant switching from the Auralic to Beovision ecosystem?
Further, if the BL90 is getting Wifi/BT control (no sign in the BL90 firmware yet), then does that extend to BR1 being updated?
Interesting
April 21, 2022 at 9:27 am #4370Anyone installed the latest Halo firmware already? Mine doesn’t fetch it, contacted support and they haven’t figured out yet what is happening until now.
April 22, 2022 at 12:29 pm #4394Hi!
Has anyone managed to update their beoremote Halo to the latest version: Software 1.5.930 – Release date 19th April 2022 ?
April 22, 2022 at 2:58 pm #4396So it seems I’m not the only one unable to get it. Weird. And support doesn’t have a clue either yet, if the reason would be a (regional) phased rollout they probably would have know that?
April 23, 2022 at 4:10 pm #4408I got it last night
April 23, 2022 at 7:18 pm #4412Now I have received Software 1.5.930 – Release date 19th April 2022 for my Beoremote Halo!

By switching of the auto-update and toggling from-to the software page, the update appeared. The first Halo is updating at the moment. (location NL)

April 26, 2022 at 8:20 pm #4480Any clear improvements?
my Halo on the older firmware looses wifi-connection about every 2-3 days. Only solution is rebooting the Halo , wifi router AND the devices the Halo is controlling. It’s beyond annoying.
April 26, 2022 at 10:01 pm #4488@LeMirage, you may already have tried this, but the typical response for certain “other” wireless music systems (coughSonosSneeze) is to assign static IP addresses in your Wi-Fi router for each and every system component, and move its DHCP base address higher than any of them. (And reboot everything afterward, plus make sure you have not assigned the same static IP addresses to anything else, of course.)
This absolutely should not be necessary — but consumer residential router firmware is sometimes as buggy as B&O’s. Especially across single devices being unplugged or the internet connectivity going down temporarily, this kind of thing “just happens”. It’s a pain, and you don’t know if it did any good until days later, but it’s worth a try.
May 4, 2022 at 7:10 pm #4738Finally got the new firmware after return from holiday. Battery life has improved A LOT !!! Wifi stability testing in progress……
June 23, 2022 at 9:17 pm #6104Really happy with this firmware, finally the table Halo has a useful battery performance now. With moderate use it holds up about five days in between charges. Very acceptable compared to the marginal 24-36 hours from previous versions.
still my Halo’s sometimes loose connection, but this problem seems to be in the Level and/or wifi router.
October 5, 2022 at 11:55 am #9464Anyone installed the new Halo firmware yet? I’m hesitant. Only change according release notes is added compatibility of the Theatre.
October 12, 2022 at 3:31 am #9631I did. Seems to work ok. As far as Halo’s go that is.
