      Hello everybody,

I am facing the following problem:

I have a Beogram 6500 and a Beosound 9000. These two devices I connect with the line input on the Besound Moment and then stream to Beolab 18.

Every time I want to change device I have to change the cables. Is there a small but good quality device to change with a button the input?

Also I want to be able to stream to Beoplay H95 with Bt ( not simultaneously with the Moment)

So I was thinking that this device should have 2 RCA inputs and 1 RCA outpout & Bt.

You have any suggestions on that?

      Thank you

Why not connect the Beogram directly to the 9000?
Then you’d need only one connection to the line-in of the Moment.

As for the BT question – if you ‘only’ want to send from the 9000/Beogram, you could use a BT transmitter with the 9000 headphone connection (which you’d – of course – would have to plug in and out).

          Good idea!!

I just need a cable to connect from the Beogram to the Beosound 9000 and then to Moment.

          One less problem.

Then maybe you know a device than can take as an input the output of the Beosound and choose if it streams to Bt or bypass to Moment?

          Thank you

You already have the cable needed for connecting the Beogram to the 9000…..unless this was changed!
It is the normal datalink cable, that is mounted on every BG6500 (DIN 7 pin).

I do not know of any such device – as said……..plug in and out manually, when needed.
These BT adapter (transmitter with minijack for the headphone connection) can easily be found online.
I am not sure how good they are, though!

You are right. There is the cable.

So new thought is to connect the 6500 to the 9000 with the integrated cable

Then from the 9000 to make a cable with two pairs or RCA. One pair to Moment. Second pair to a Bt Transmitter. Is this possible?

              Thank you

The BS9000 AUX socket can be an input and output at the same time, but at the very least you’d need one of these cables to do both: https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/11-312-7-pin-aux-splitter-dual-aux-tape-input-sockets.html#/20-length-02m

And then connect from the adaptor’s second socket to your Beosound Core Moment – I am not sure if Sounds Heavenly provide a cable to do this direct because you need the output to come from DIN pins 1 and 4.

Alternatively you could take an audio output from one of the BS9000’s Powerlink sockets, remembering that the volume will be variable (which might not be a problem if in A.OPT 0, or you are not using an IR remote. )

Sorry but I got a bit confused 🙂

                  A) connect the beogram 6500 to the https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/11-312-7-pin-aux-splitter-dual-aux-tape-input-sockets.html#/20-length-02m

                  B) connect the above splitter to Beosound 9000 in the Aux port

                  C) get the other end of the splitter and connect it to a Bt transmitter

                  D) Get a https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/110-329-5-pin-din-to-twin-rca-powerlink-compatible-to-non-bo-hifi-amplifier-receiver-etc-din-to-twin-phono.html#/2-length-1m and connect to the powerlink of BS9000 to the BS Moment

                  correct??

                    correct??

Yes. This will provide a fixed BS9000 line-level output to the BT transmitter, and a variable output to the Moment (I said Core by mistake earlier, sorry). The only difficulty is making sure that the connector from the splitter to the BT transmitter is from the DIN output pins (1&4) rather than the input pins (3&5). Many people find it easier to use a lead like this which provides both inputs and outputs: https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/154-2336-5-pin-din-to-4-x-rca-input-and-output-cable-for-bo-naim-quad.html#/2-length-1m

If there are no Powerlink speakers connected directly to the BS9000, I think you will also need one of these to maintain remote control: https://soundsheavenly.com/bang-olufsen/141-2309-beosound-9000-speaker-sense-adapter-gives-remote-control-functions-when-no-speakers-are-connected.html#/18-colour-black

It is probably worth contacting Steve at Sounds Heavenly to confirm (or otherwise) that my suggestions will work!

                        @Guy

The ‘fixed BS9000 line-level output to the BT transmitter’ worries me.
How would you control the volume for the headphones in that case?

You are absolutely right, have not thought of that.

maybe instead of a transmitter, I need an amp with bt connectivity. But i dont like the idea

I was thinking that the headphones would be able to control the volume output of the BT transmitter. Perhaps not!

Anyway, instead just connect the BS9000’s variable Powerlink output to the BT transmitter, and connect the fixed output (from the adaptor) to the Moment’s line-in.

                                    With the following connection diagram:

                                    Beogram 9000 ———> AUX (BS9000)

                                    BS90000 (powerlink) —–>splitter —A—–> Moment

                                    splitter—B—> BT transmitter

the BS9000 can control only the volume of the cd’s not the volume of the Aux?

The BS9000 will control both the volume of the CD and the volume of the Aux.

However, with this arrangement you have two devices sharing (via the splitter) an identical PL output, hence the inputs of the Moment and BT transmitter are effectively connected in parallel and this may cause interference and/or interfere with the output levels.

EDIT: This thread really needs Steve to comment on the best solution/workaround! I’ll send him a PM.

I was answering your question using similar terminology! Perhaps I should have said that my amended solution would pass either BS9000 or BG6500 to the Moment (depending on what source you select on the BS9000, CD or AUX).

and how I can the stream to Bt transmitter?

From the variable Powerlink output, in this amended solution.
