      Hi,
Where in Europe is it possible to order a CDM12.4 for a VAU1255 used in a Beosound 3000?
My normal “supplier” in Germany is out of stock, other times I have ordered from China (with good luck) but after the recent tax on goods into Europe the postal service in Denmark charge around 160 DKK extra now so it could be good with a new “supplier” in Europe.

Why not just clean the lens from both sides. Look up the thread about fixing laser on Beosound 9000. There’s a video that shows how to do it.

I have tried that without no luck.

Yes, both side of the lens and also the mirror down in the “channel”. It is a new laser I need.

Zut, not a good news, I used to believe the deep cleaning was a forever cure.

I remember it was a thread on the old forum about, I don’t know, reflowing some connections or maybe replacing one or to capacitors, in a nutshell another path out from the usual “just replace the lens”.

I WANT to believe that lasers last forever and ore not just 5 years life long components.

Look, I have quite a few CD players, some 40 years old, and they almost all still work. I’ve yet to find a Philips-based player that isn’t fixable, by the way. All my B&O CD players have their original laser assemblies.

However, the CDM12 don’t seem as reliable, although mine all work perfectly.

Hello Pindsen. The lasers in the cd-pro and cdm12 and vau are only lasting 6k hours. So you want to replace the laser in the CD-pro module. (The swing arm lasers in older music systems are lasting 60k hours so ten times as much )

You can send me a pm and i could order a laser for you, i’m living in Belgium. Can send it to you then? Did you replaced a laser in a CD-pro module? You need to be precautious, so wearing an esd wristband and using an antistatic mat, to prevent damage to the dac board or the laser…
