sorry folk, I just realized, I posted in the wrong sub forum. (private sales).

My apologies. I reposted in the correct sub forum. I will delete this post myself soon.

      Hello, B & O community, I am in need of some help/advice.
My Beosound 9000 MK2 is having issues playing CD.
Symptom: it moves to the correct CD but the CD does not spin. It looks like it is trying to spin the CD but gives up eventually. and displays “pause” after a couple tries. This is the same for all 6 CD slots.

please see the video here =>

      https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jG4064kP2VLTMfb48PSorQ-ebcUoXW2V/view?usp=sharing

I have tried cleaning the two sensors with alcohol.
I have also tried cleaning the lens with a q-tip.
Next thing I could try is replacing the lens itself by disassembling it but I do need to purchase a remote first as I need to put this into test mode.

Also I have heard that there could be two different types of lasers for the mk2 unit for Beosound 9000. Does anybody know where I can get the correct laser part?
do i need a whole set of CD mechanism? not just the lens maybe?
My type number is 2563. made in 2000
This is the part I found so far but unsure if it is compatible with my type. https://www.ebay.com/itm/280909514942?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20220705100511%26meid%3D08bea75b676c45a9aef1231e62eecd66%26pid%3D101524%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D280909514942%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DUnbranded&_trksid=p2380057.c101524.m146925&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad966185f-7e7a-11ed-981e-26b27da06343%7Cparentrq%3A230a63c81850acf0c96f38ebfffe7662%7Ciid%3A1My
      thanks in advance!

        Hi and welcome to Beoworld,

See here, have a drink and take a deep breath, Its just two hard hours. 😀

Alternatively, you can also search in this or better, in the old forum. They’re a lot of thread about laser replacement and the usual issues that may arise (whistling laser, incompatible ones even if the reference is good…)

It’s a common issue with plenty of solutions.

thank you so much for the tip here @matador.

I just realized I posted in the sales forum. I’ll repost this in the correct sub forum. My apologies here.

Looks like you completely cleaned up the mk2 lens and got it working again. This gives me so much hope and this is my next mission.

I still do not have a beo4 or beolink 1000 remote so I cannot fully diassemble the cd mechanism yet. Once I get the remote, I’ll follow your video and clean the lens inside/outside.

Question: What type of grease/oil do you put on the rail? (small rod next to the cd lens that you greased?) deoxit fader lube is probably not okay right?

Noo it is an extremely expensive grease. I ordered in the past the lubrication from B&O.

            Klüber Barrierta grease L55/1

try to buy a small amount because 1kg cost 1755€.
it is a white grease, not corrosive to plastic gears and bearings.
