      Hi,

I have been using a BM5/BS5 combo for many years. While the motherboard and the HDD of the BM5 have been replaced a couple of times, the BS5 unit worked fine until recently.

There is no display anymore on the BS5 or occasionally the display shows weird blinking images. I still can hear the click sounds when turning the wheel. Of course, I checked the DVI cable which seems OK as far as I can tell.

Any idea on how to determine what part of the BS5 is defect (LCD display, motherboard, mainboard…)?

      Thanks.

Hi Griebel, as the BM5 is just a XP PC may try to connect an PC screen to the BM5. I think its DVI connection but follow the cabling from the BS5 and you will find the connector. A harddisk failure could also be the problem. On the old forum fixes for replacement of the HD are documentend. Kind regards, Edwin

The BM5 works fine with a new HDD. It’s the BeoSound5 that has a dark screen. Replaced the DVI cable with a new one; didn’t help.

Thank you. I will definitely look at this offer.
