Hi Everyone,
i have a Beosound 5 Encore, still very happy about that, but I have noticed that it now is beginning to start by itself. I noticed it when I got up this morning and turned it off, only to realize that it started again after 3-4 minutes. It has continously done this all morning and I am a bit lost. Anyone else experienced this and know what to do?
Thanks in advance and happy Easter everyone!

If yes, try taking that to another room – they some times send commands without your control
Is the Encore located, where the sun shines on it?

April 6, 2023 at 6:54 pm #18721Hi MM,
Thanks for the answer. I have no remote for it, but it is in the sunlight. But that has never been a problem before. So I did some testing and took out my USB key which stores my music. I had just added on another 30 GB. And low and behold, the unit stopped turning on. So I figured that was the issue. Then I remembered another thing, I just pulled out the USB when the transfer was done without using windows option to push out the USB when done. I just tested that, but with no luck it seems. It still turns on. I have an external HDD, which I will try instead tomorrow. I find it odd that extra storage makes it turn on.

It can be hard to find the cause of such behaviour.
Normally it should happen in standby, but the MOTS calculations of the new drive could also have an influence there…..that is, if you have MOTS activated.
Maybe it will stop (turning on) after a while?MM
April 8, 2023 at 8:02 am #18764Sorry for the late reply – Easter is here, meaning family time (at least in DK) :). I got the Encore working again. The MOTS was already off, but I did take an external HD and transferred all the music there. The HDD worked with the Encore, which made me go back to the USB. And then it worked. So thinking maybe it just needed to load everything to the memory in order to read correctly. Not sure, but as said, it works now. I also got reminded that an HDD is a lot faster in reading data than an USB drive. Maybe a good reminder when having so much data available.
Once again, thanks for all the help and sparring 🙂
