Hello! I’m own a pair of beovox penta that I really like although since I watch quite a lot of movies with them I would like to get a proper center speaker to pair with them but I can’t really decide what to pick. I recently found out about the beolab 7.1 and it’s iterations and have found them very tempting. I have seen people mount a new tv to the old beovision 7 stand and get stunning looking results. This one is by far my favorite https://lbs-b-o.dk/produkter/beovision-7-oled-opdatering-med-65-ambilight-tv . Beovision 7’s are very cheap where I live and I have seen them multiple times selling for 100 €. However I understand that this speaker was designed to be an all around speaker and not just a center channel so I’m a bit curious of well it would perform to used center speakers from brands like KEF, B&W or Klipsch. I don’t know if B&O have a distinction sound across there range of speakers but I’m thinking that since I want to match my center speaker to my left and right as mush as possible maybe the Beolab 7 would be a good match for my pentas since they are also made by B&O?

I can also add that I am aware of the annoyance of connecting it to a normal receiver and if I end up buying a Beolab 7 I would buy something like this https://www.av-connection.com/?PGr=5665

The 7.1 and 7.2 are very powerful and capable stereo/center speakers.

You can find the specs on the product pages of Beoworld.

I have used the speaker bracket from the BV7 stand to wall mount the speaker below my TV. Wired to play ‘mono’ in a 5.1 setup.

But be aware that the speaker is pretty deep compared to a modern TV.

You could also consider the BL7.4 or BL10

I never owned one… But these are true center channel speakers.

I’m using a 7.2 as a centre channel, wall mounted underneath my TV, driven from an Anthem AVR (used as a processor) with BL8000 fronts and BL6000 rears. It works really well, it’s a great centre channel speaker – very clean, detailed and powerful.

I got the whole lot from a s/h B&O specialist (Quality Dream Audio in the UK) and they made me up an RCA to powerlink cable with integral USB trigger which is connected to the TV so that whenever the TV turns on, the 7.2 turns on.

Thank you. I really like the look of the 7.1 speaker and would definitely change the cover to wood if I bought one. It looks amazing then!

I have heard about the beolab 7.4 before but I prefer the design of the 7.1 quite a lot although the 7.4 is starting to grow on me. The 7.4 also seems quite hard to mount if you have a cabinet under the TV so I would have to move some things around to make it fit. I hadn’t heard about the beolab 10 but from what I can find it seems to be the 7.4 but with a much larger cabinet so I would assume that it performs better than the 7.4?

What really bothers me is how hard it is to find reviews about theses speakers. I have find some about the beolab 7.4 but I have not read a single review/forum post about the beolab 10 and how it performs. It probably exists but there just isn’t alot of information out there.
