      Hi all,

is this a chassis problem with one of my BL5’s: after noticing my right BL5 sounding a bit less loud, I eventually ran a frequency test and -having ensured both speakers are getting the same signal- that right one produced no sound in the 25 – 70 Hz range whereas the left one produced it very well; with increasing frequency the right one slowly got to the same volume as the left one, maybe at around 300 Hz getting close.

I should also mention that last week that same speaker produced occasional cracking/popping sounds (not loud; sometimes a few times per minute; sometimes gone for hours); my local B&O technician kindly drop by to listen and thought it was very likely the chassis, so they are trying to get me a replacement chassis.

so my question: is the “no low bass” finding consistent with that chassis diagnosis too?

      thanks!

      Rene

I would try re-running calibration for the faulty speaker, then re-measure the frequency response. Just in case.

Thanks – unfortunately this speaker starts calibration with sticking out the microphone, but that stops halfway, i.e. it won’t extend completely and the calibration doesn’t really begin… Probably related to the chassis problem?
