I am trying to bring some of my Beolab speakers back to life. I want to use Airplay 2 to play music from my iPhone or Apple TV.

      Setup:

      • Beolab 11 (BL11). Configured to Line In, 0db, Int. bass mng, pos 1
      • 2 x Beolab 8000 (BL8000)
      • Belkin Soundform Connect

      Connections:

      • Belkin to BL11: 3.5mm mini-jack to DIN (shield to pin 7 + pin 2, left to pin 3, right to pin 5)
      • BL11 to BL8000 (left): Power link cable
      • BL11 to BL8000 (right): Power link cable

The setup works, except for noise and popping sounds (small “bangs”) from the subwoofer now and then. The BL8000 plays perfectly without any noise.

Any suggestions what could be wrong?

        Bad minijack/powerlink cable ?

EDIT: Guess that should affect the BL8000 as well …

My second guess would be the ice-power amp which can cause those symptoms as well..

Thank you very much for the ideas. I double checked the cable and the connector and it seems to be ok. This is also indicated as the BL8000 plays without any noise.

I disassembled the speaker yesterday to visually inspect the icepower module, see attached photo. There are no visual signs of damage, so I have to dig further into it. Any ideas which components on the module that could cause this?

@mandersen: Did you manage to find a solution? I have a BL11 that shows the same symptoms as your…..small “bangs” every now and then
