      Good morning
I have a Beogram CD3300 which no longer wants to read CDs.
The CD starts and after a few seconds, it stops indicating a question mark (or 2 may miss a segment on the display ?)
I think he can’t read the track (TOC)
I changed all the chemical caps (33 caps ,Some caps completely dead (ESR big!)) on the CD board and on the main decoding board but the problem is not resolved

I have already read similar problems on this site (Archive), but could not find technical explanations for solving this problem

      Somebody knows a solutions ?

C2103 on the servo board is critical.
Fitting a low-ESR cap here is the recipe for trouble. It must be a blue Philips/BC axial type.
A kit exists for this particular problem.

          Hello Martin

To start the repair I had already replaced the C2103 cap on the servo board. (it is indeed a Philips axial blue,) because this problem is known and frequent on the Beocenter 9000/9500.

          But the problem stay

It’s the reason why I replaced all the caps on the servo et decoding boards, but unfortunately the problem doesn’t solved and now I don’t know what To do know

Can you tell if the laser tries to seek focus? – Does it move up and down a few mms when you press play without a disc loaded?
Is the laser emitting light? – The face-facing camera on f.e. an iPhone can usually see the light.

              Hello Dillen

I haven’t been able to determine whether the laser goes up or down. On the other hand, the head does not move and will not read the TOC on the CD.

I checked the condition of the flexible cable that powers the laser, it’s good, there is no cut

If the laser head does not move on the disc, does that mean the laser is dead?
