I just got all my dads stuff and I’ve listed after his amp, turntable and speakers for years.

the amp is fine with the exception of some burned out bulbs.
the turntable arm will not drop. Here’s what I’m getting. Press start and needle moves to edge of record. Will not drop. Press 33. Nothing happens. Press 45. It lights up but nothing else happens. I press the lower and raise button and can see the solenoid move the arm slightly and quickly but then nothing happens. If I press the up/down button again. The carriage moves slowly. Then if I press it again. It will stop.
Any help here would be great!

        Hi,

        Nice turntable, a keeper.
I’m afraid the tonearm will have to be dismantled, cleaned bit by bit, lubricated and re-assembled. The old grease/oils become sticky and this is basic maintenance for 50 year-old decks. Do that, then we’ll advise further. Also, does the tonearm light with the red B&O logo work?

Oh yes please, we love pictures here.

As we say here, “pictures or it didn’t happen”. ☺️

After some digging and some help from everyone here. I have got the mechanism to move freely and but it appears the dampener won’t fully activate and drop the arm. Working on taking that out and getting it cleaned up.
