Anyone know where I can get a service manual for the Beogram 3000, Type 5231? I have looked through this forum and other places online and no link has resulted in the correct version of this turntable.

I need to service the motor, and I can’t order bearings from Beoparts until I know if I need to. I have a set new bearings for the 3mm spindle, but I see these models can also have the 4.5mm bearings. From what I can see from the top (platter removed), the motor appears to be the same as a 1900 motor I have.

I have a new platter belt and the motor works, but has a knocking sound, which I assume is bearing related.

Aside from finding the manual, I’m sure someone can tell me what the trick is to pull the subplatter off. I turned to see if there was any locking mechanism, and a variety of other “safe” attempts so I don’t bust anything.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

Here’s a pic. It belongs to a buddy in town. I think he got this for $40. If I get the deck working smoothly, I will probably send the SP12 out for inspection, and rebuild if necessary.

I do have the cover as well, and it’s in really nice shape.

One other thing that is missing is the busted off rubber bumper on one side. It had disintegrated.

The service manual is on the main Beoworld website – it’s the one on the list of Beogram 3000s with no “Type” number after it.
