I just bought a Beogram 1203 and had to realize that the arm is wrongly positioned in every way. In the rest position, it’s close to the 30 position, in the 25 position it’s at the 17 position and in the 17 position it even crosses the centre of the turntable.

Does anyone know how this could be solved? I guess at the adjustment something was at some point wrongly assembled but I have no idea what. Please help me if you have any ideas. Thank you!

The picture shows the Stop Position. Pushing it further to the lift won’t work since the spring would return the arm to the position shown in the picture.

The arm position is controlled by a steel rod running in a groove in a cam wheel.
It could seem to be put together wrongly.

The arm position and operation is governed by a number of sliding brass plates under the centre of the turntable. If a plate has been damaged or bent it will give rise to the wrong positioning of the arm or incorrect lifting or dropping of the cartridge/ stylus.

Edit: or possibly the plates have been removed and then reassembled incorrectly.
