I have a Beocord 5500 on my desk.
error: drawer won’t open and cassette won’t wind. Only play and head spin works.
I saw that the belt for the drawer had snapped. After replacing the belt, it worked briefly, then the belt slipped off again. Cause: After plugging in the mains plug, the motor for the drawer starts to turn for a few seconds. Also, when I press Rewind (forward or rewind), the drawer motor starts spinning briefly.

Has anyone had something like this and can help me?
As a precaution I changed all capacitors and IC on the power supply. Without success.

      Many Thanks.

        Hi,

I was able to solve the problem:

The cause was the stuck curve wheel (9355) and the associated arm (9358). These sit very concealed behind the left flywheel.

        How did I get this:

In the circuit diagram there is a switch S4. This affects the release for winding. When measuring the contacts A-D (P8-13 to P8-16 against Ground P6-4 or so) I was able to determine a change in the level (5V) for all contacts depending on the playback mode. “Forward” stands for the playback direction. Only with S4 did nothing. It was always 5V.

I found the contact in the cassette deck. The curve wheel acts on this contact via the arm and is located very hidden behind the left flywheel.

The curve wheel including arm was stuck. A little spray got the wheel moving again. And already S4 is working again and the deck spooled as before.

Maybe it will help others in the future.

        Erik
