Good morning! My first post, hope everyone is well?
I have a beocentre 2200 which has been working lovely for the last couple of years but recently there seems to be an imbalance and I’m hoping it is an easy fix? Doesn’t look like anything has snapped etc but as you can see from the attached video, there is a slight tilt which causes the platter to scrape.
any ideas on how to fix this please?thanks in advance, Chris

December 10, 2023 at 6:38 pm #27183Thanks Dillen- is that this part? Or underneath it maybe? If so, how would I fix that please?
December 10, 2023 at 7:19 pm #27185The “skeleton” sub-platter can be lifted off.
That would ease inspection.Martin
December 10, 2023 at 7:32 pm #27187Thank you but that section seems to be locked in by 3 brackets and has the belt wrapped around it?
apologies, you can probably tell my knowledge is low! Thanks 🙂December 10, 2023 at 9:20 pm #27190The three locks must be rotated a little using a wide-bladed screwdriver, enough to allow
the subplatter to pass.
They will usually move in “loud chunks”.The belt will come off, and you may have to take off the black plastic surround to get at the
motor pulley to put it back (renew it and the motor mounts while in there).Martin

December 11, 2023 at 4:10 pm #27197Hi. So this has been resolved as the circled part was not fully released.
i do now have a slight brushing sound – could that be down to needing a new belt perhaps?Video attached

December 11, 2023 at 7:29 pm #27208The scraping sound could come from the belt rubbing on something.
If you run the deck without the platter, the belt could run on the subplatter flange.Or it could be from the record sensing mech.
Have you tried with a record on the platter?Martin
December 12, 2023 at 3:25 pm #27241Hi
seems like a possible belt issue? Videos attached.
thanks

December 12, 2023 at 5:22 pm #27246The interesting video is the bad one. I simply can’t see if the belt scrapes on something
– or the motor pulley, it can also scrape on the motors metal bracket (bad motor mounts).Martin
December 12, 2023 at 5:57 pm #27250Sorry which video please? Neither are great to be honest! Ha
when I play without a record it only spins for a couple of seconds.

December 13, 2023 at 7:55 am #27267The interesting video is the one where you (should be able to) see the belt running its path.
“when I play without a record it only spins for a couple of seconds.”
That’s normal. It won’t play without a record but needs to spin the platter to check for one.Martin
