My beocenter 7700 tape has been repaired, this required a part being glued together so it may stop at any time. The question I need answered is the tape mechanism the same as the beocenter 7007.

Yes, the tape mechanism is the same, but keep in mind that the tape controller
and the tape drive has been calibrated together.
If you replace only the tape mech, you must realign everything on the tape controller to match the new tapeheads etc.
Best is to keep the things paired and replace both the drive and the controller.
        – Or repair your drive. What has broken?

Thank you for the reply. I have just returned from holiday. Happy New Year. I purchased a beocenter 7002 for a good cartridge for a turntable I have. The tape deck on my 7700 is working , however, a part on the tape device has been repaired (glue, picture in original post) and I want to salvage that part if the decks were compatible for when the deck eventually stops. May work for ever.

The original bracket for the flying idler was black.
The last original replacements were white – as the one pictured, and they are known to break.
