Hello,
I’ve been a big fan of B & O gear since a TV show called ‘The Brothers’ aired on British TV in 1972. Every now and then in the show, it would flip to a shot of a B & O linear tracking turntable and I was in love with B & O HiFi from that point onwards!

Anyway, I worked at a shop called The Midland Educational (‘ME’) in Corporation Street, Birmingham UK I think in 1974. Along side the ME was a B & O shop that I frequented. As a school kid at the time, there was no way I could afford it but it didn’t stop me trying 🙂 I acquired some brochures from that shop and would like to share them with other fans on this group so they do not get lost. I’m not sure if these are already available ….. The links are below. I’m fairly certain they were from 1974 and one of the reasons I’m trying to date these is to add my employment with the ME into my ‘memories’ folder. So, if anyone can date these, I’d be grateful. Note that I put the prices against items, on some of the docs, and then added sales tax onto that price which was an extortionate 20% (corrected from 25%) of the purchase price!!!! Anyway, I hope these brochures may prove interesting and I’ll happily provide further info on them if possible.
All the best,
Gary

November 27, 2022 at 4:50 pm #11810Hi Gary and welcome to Beoworld,
As a fan of anything in paper B&O branded and especially brochures, I’m happy to be the first to answer to your post.
Thank you very much for your contribution. Thoses brochure are, at least for me, unseen until now and very special since they do feature a lot of items I own and love.
In the next days, if you dont object I will work on your PDFs to cut them to size.
Thank you again, for me, this is christmas before the day of it.
All the best.

November 27, 2022 at 6:00 pm #11812Hello and many thanks for your reply.
Glad you liked the brochures – I’ve had them for nearly 50 years and really glad I kept them.
No problem at all with you doing a better job than me with the PDF’s!
I simply put them into Word and then printed as a PDF – not the best way.
If you need the raw jpegs, let me know and I can send them to you and look forward to a proper PDF.
All the best,
Gary
November 27, 2022 at 6:02 pm #11813Thanks Martin.
I think I got them about August 1974.
All the best,
Gary
